New Pole Barn - Some Assembly Required

Wet the floor and cover with plastic so it dries slow for best strength.

Did you put insulation under the floor? I didn't and regret it deeply.:(

I would be careful doing this, if your water has certain minerals or rust in it, this can stain the concrete. If the plastic has been used and has dirt on it, it can cause staining. They should have sealed the slab with a curing agent that retards evaporation. That will serve the purpose of slowing the curing process. Also if you put water on the concrete prematurely it can cause spalling later.

Finally, some more progress! The crew got the wall steel installed yesterday. It's starting to look like a barn!

I'm a few days behind in posting. The barn was finished last Wednesday and passed the building inspection on Thursday. Time to start filling it up! :D:D

Having a new building sure helps increase the to-do list. Grading, extend the driveway, build a workbench and shelving, just to name a few. Looks like the next few months are going to be fun!

What about electric?

I still need to contact the electric company to see how much it would cost to bring electricity in. Might be next year's project if it's too much.
