So I picked this up, 2 bottom plow 18 inch, thanks to TBN advice

And thanks to everything attachments for how to video, the results from my very first time ever plowing :thumbsup:

She is buried barely above idle in 2nd low....never knew it was back there

This also followed me home

Going to grease her up and head back down the road (100 yards or so)

Learned a lot about plowing....now lets see this how this disc thing turns out

well I got a compliment from PaPaw, he said it looked good and hasn't been turned deep in 15 years(normal guy only turned 3 or 4 inches; I guess that is good)??

he said it was too wet, let it rain and breath for a week before disc...that is good because I have to fix/modify upper link mount...quick fixes are not always best fixes...so next weekend is disc time...now to learn this trick of the trade...I will post in attachments again..thanks guys

Looks like the adjustable doohicky attached to the axle replaces the chain.

On the tractors I've had, the chains (and doohickies) worked in tension rather than compression. In the picture, the left arm is prevented from swinging to the left in this manner. The right arm is pushing on the doohickey rather than pulling. If he makes a right turn while dragging an implement there's a good chance it'll buckle the doohickey.

makes sense, the doohickey has a solid setting and a "floating section" you can move pin from hole through hole to, hole through a slot

I have no idea reasoning behind it, any advice will be taken open handed :drink:

The doohickey is a telescoping stabilizer. The reason for the slotted pin hole is when you want the attachment to be free to move a limited amount. Most commonly used with a moldboard plow.

I prefer telescoping stabilizers over chains. I commonly use a Brush Cutter, Flail Mower, BB, rear blade, dirt scoop and tree puller. All of these I want held in a fixed position. The telescoping stabilizers allow this restriction easily. Hitch up the attachment. Lift it. Move it to the spot you like. Pin it in place. No tools or hassles required.

Well discing worked great, it was a long process going from bowling ball size to small

Had to cut this "fix" out just to attach my upper link

garden done for now

and papaw came to inspect (he uses mower to get around, walker doesn't do real good ):laughing:

and hoses look rough (NO COVERS), don't leak yet...amazing what fresh paint covers on an old tractor :smiley_aafz:

I ordered ROP metal and extra for implements I need to make, hopefully this weekend will get some time to work on her

Well I had an interesting trip down the road over the weekend:shocked:

I had been using FEL most of the weekend, driving between fields and just doing stuff, I was about a mile down the road running about 25mph or so when all of a sudden the tractor started bouncing and hopping...scared the crap out of me I hit the clutch and closed the throttle, turned around and...destruction...I guess it could of been worse

Time to make another one, at least I can make a couple changes to it:thumbsup:

I answered my own question about the strength of a cat 1 v/s cat 2 :laughing:

Big question now is why did I lose pressure to 3 pt? I wonder if the vibrations from tires caused the up/down lever to move a little bit :confused3:

My Kubota leaks down after awhile. It also has chains that go from the lower bars to a chain hook just under the seat. I can lift my 3point, connect that chain and it holds the 3point front dropping too far depending on where I attach the chain.

On your setup, can you just replace the draw bar? Is it broken or bent?

It just looks bent, may just try to straighten and reinforce etc. ..heck it is only wt...my tractors anchor lol

Worst case will be cut barrel up, get verticle steel out refill with wet and dry concrete chunks and only be out a drawbar $20 and a bag or two of new concrete
