I'm purchasing a new RTV and getting it the Monday after Thanksgiving. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Added windshield, WS Wiper, rear work light, Hydraulic Dump, underhood storage, glovebox, Plastic top, taillight guards to a Rec. Camo Model. Will take to work to spray in liner next week. Any suggestions or ploblem items to look out for? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Good Idea. Must be a lot like my Mule. I spay Perma-Tech liners at my store in WPB, FL and I may do some more custom stuff while I have it there. Not sure what's worth doing yet but I have a lot of ideas flying through my head.
Things like;
* Sliding/Removeable tool box
* Side Racks
* Rear Seat
* Bed Extender for carring long stuff
* Ladder / Lumber / Tree Trimming Saw Carrier on one side
* Removable Front & Rear Winch mounts that go into the hitch but put the winch up higher than what's on the market now
* All of the bed items would mount with some guick mount rail system?

If anyone knows of any other accessories or implaments available for this it would be helpful. And what about the hydraulic system, are they going to be thing made like 3-Points, finish mowers, etc?

FL Cracker,

Congrats!!!
Did I interpret the list of things you're considering are things you're going to make yourself?

Not sure if you've had a chance to review this forum for other things that have been done but they may provide some ideas. There's a couple aftermarket places that have (or are about to have) some of the things you've listed.

I've made several of the things you've listed for the box, but I made my own box to accomplish.

Can you elaborate on "* Removable Front & Rear Winch mounts that go into the hitch but put the winch up higher than what's on the market now"? Higher? Why? I'm working on the quick connect multi-mount winch setup now but wondering why you wouldn't use the existing receivers.

The list of items are those that I will consider. I will either find a place to purchase or make them myself. I have a very extensive steel and aluminum fabrication shop in Florida but would buy something already made if it's done nice.

As for the winch, I want to use the existing hitches but custom adapt a multi mount winch bracket so that it's attached 4-6" above the receiver rather than level with the hitch. My thoughts are when you really need the winch, that hitch mount may be very close (if not under) to the water, mud or swamp. I haven't measured it yet but it looks like the hitches are only about 12-14" off the ground. Seems LOW !! Typical trailer is 16-18" or more.

If you make things, please post pics!!!

For the hitches, I just bought drawbars with the appropriate amount of offset to get the trailers level. Most of what I'm pulling are smaller (4x8, 5x6...) sized trailers so I think my offset is only an inch or 2.

Here is a little test results from my new RTV.

I ran it up and down every road and steep hill I could find on my property. I even ran it up a hill the a bulldozer just came down cutting me a fence line. This hill was steep. Dozer operator had to keep his feet on the dash to keep himself in the seat.

I took it up one steap hill that my buddy couldn't make in his Jeep CJ with big tires and rear lockers.

Next I attached a 5x10 trailer, loader the trailer with a grapple & backhoe attachment for my skid steer loader and then added 250 of horse feed in the bed. From there me and a friend headed for the barn. To get there I have to climb a very steap section of our gravel road. (It's even hard on my F250 4x4 SD Ford.) The RTV pull like a charm. My old Mule use to have a tough time with two riders and 300# of corn.

RTV #1800
Horse Feed 250
Two Riders 400
Misc in Bed 100

Trailer 950
Grapple 990
Backhoe 550

I pull a 3200 lb trailer with 2 people abord my RTV and it don't even know its pulling on flats. Up steep hills its a low gear operation but it pulls it no problems..

I found a source online for a Class II, 1.25 inch drawbar with a 5" rise. They were $19.95 plus shipping. You could probably weld or bolt the Hunterworks winch plate directly to it. I bookmarked the site on my work computer. Will not be in until tommorow so I will post a link then.

Good Luck, Lorn

I'm going to use some of my welding and fabrication skills and build me a front and rear bumper made from 2x3x1/4" tubing. At that time I will incorperate a 2" Receiver tube above the bumpers and that will give me the "H" I'm looking for. Both bumpers will use the 1 1/4" hitch to attach the bumper plus a few more brackets to keep it stable and rattle free. Will post pictures when complete, but that will be in a week or two as right now I'm in the middle of a new barn project.
