Nylon lasts well. That's what bushings are made of on most similar vehicles (Polaris, etc).

So you can turn down on a lathe 8 new nylon a-arm bushings in a couple hours and rebuild a RTV rear suspension? Impressive.

If you buy a machine that's under warranty you have a right to have a functioning machine that last more than 10 hours. Money is hard to come by. So give the guys a break. They deserve to have a machine that is not wobbling down the road in the first day of use!

Not to mention the fact that Bota may come back and void any and all warranty by performing a self fix

PapaPerk, anyone that sees this as a 'rebuilding a RTV suspension' probably ought not to try it. If bushings are defective (ID/OD) they should be replaced obviously, and as soon as the company or dealer can provide them. Kubota doesn't seem to be rushing to admit there is a problem, perhaps lost somewhere between an engineers view of parts/pieces and a consumer's measure of perfection.

btw: Say an hour planning (dimensions, parts count), another to drive to a supplier if I don't have the nylon, and an hour to drill, turn, & part-off 8 or 16 or however many needed. I'd expect another hour or two to assemble and admit I'd have to compare the time/effort spent to waiting for a dealer to get help from a maker, hauling, etc. Easily doable for me and some others, but probably overkill.

If I could 'give the guys' anything I hope it'd be the inspiration to consider doing what they might do themselves, esp if it's a simple matter of shimming out some slop. Stacking rings on a stick isn't for everybody, but the pictures and parts above don't make servicing look too complicated. Nylon washers are available from Grainger or other supply houses if not the hardware store.

I'd hate to think that a guy who can mount tool-boxes, lights, or hitches to a vehicle wouldn't fix this better anyway than those who are dodging it thus far or waiting on someone else further removed from the individual situation. Meanwhile, I'm starting to hope warranties will outlive owners just in case ... well, you know ... stuff happens ... and not everyone is 'handy'. :confused3:

There is no 'perfect' or 'forever' in 'new' but there can always be an 'ew' if you know how to look at something the right way. ;)

Just put the tracks on my machine we will see if it holds up. It seem better then my old 900!

Haha! I think your timeline is a little aggressive!

So, has anybody actually had a break down yet?

Oh, I might not rush a job with a deadline of ... how many days has this thread gone on without reports of "all fixed"?

Don't mean to ruffle your feathers there but some folks will try to do their own work, and have the time to.

The RTV1100's suspension doesn't look that complicated compared to a car or truck, tho' I did assume that things wouldn't be rusted up and difficult to deal with on a fairly new machine.

I wonder if any play between parts #40 could be reduced by adding shims (nylon washers?) onto #60 to contain the control arm's excess movement, tho' maybe that's not what the issue is.

btw: I don't buy that 'play' is intentional for the sake of CV joints. There's no way to assure which end of motion the pieces would be in when turning the wheels, and up/down action seems to be handled ok at both ends of the vehicle without such accommodations.

I agree Mr Grind, if this is the best engineering Bota engineers can come up with I pity the companies future
