Nothing here yet Prime,,

Mine is to go to the dealer this week to be torn down and checked. Funny though, the dealer told me he told Kubota it was pointless to bring mine in because he could show him the one on the show room floor doing the same thing as mine. Kubota told him mine needed to be there

It just doesn't seem like Kubota can get its head around the idea that they have a design problem. I like Kubota's stuff, and for a few days got real excited bout the X1120d after I saw one, but I can't understand why Kubota can't deal with this issue. Just seems strange.

Well mine left here a little while ago. They are tearing it down with the factory rep on Wednesday. The dealer is very understanding. He agrees that it should not have the movement that it does. He said because of the design it has to have movement there or u-joints will bind up if it doesn't and that would be just as bad or worse (IMHO) He does thinks that it could be designed much better however to get rid of the play.

Seems shims will be the fix for the front end problem.

It is to be back here on Thursday or Friday. I guess that will depend on what the rep decides needs to be done.

From what I have observed the play is in the bushing #60 and the pin #70, both top and bottom pins

Hey rap it's hard to tell without hands on disassemble it could be were the bushing goes into the hub and is working between the bushing and aluminum hub.

I reviewed the prints above. The dealers claim saying the suspension needs play to prevent the "u-joints" from binding is complete HOG WASH!!!

The assembly uses CV Joints. It will have a fixed and plunge joint on each half shaft. The plunge joint will take care of providing any slop required for suspension movement. I can't believe the dealer said that!

The assembly show above depends on the bushings inserted into the aluminum upright not wearing. It's a good chance Kubota used the wrong material type here and it is wearing very quickly or the bushings were bored to the wrong diameter.

If a person wanted to fix their machine themselves they could remove old bushing and press in bushing turned on a lathe from nylon.

A fix for the issue shouldn't be all that difficult and certainly within Kubota's ability.

I just looked at a newer RTV 1120. It has slop in the rear hubs... It appears to be the bearings that the half shafts go through... Either CV joints arent tight or hub nut is loose.

Once again this assembly should not have any slop!

The suspension bushings look tight but without having machine in the air I can't tell you all for certain what is loose. There's only really a couple things it can be.

If this existed on a road vehicle it would be very dangerous due to changes in wheel camber while turning, etc!

These units are not taken on the road?
My Ranger 570 goes on the road regularly, and at rather high speeds at that!
