RTV
Thanks to all you for such informative postings. Ton's of good info here that I can utilize for my new RTV. Traded my '97 Mule 2510 for the Rec. model RTV this weekend. Had all I could stand of the belt drive...

RTV is at Line-X right now - did the Mule bed with this 2 years ago - you guys are right - it's the best.

The dealer where I bought my RTV had the diesel Mules which had some 3/4" heat reflective insulation on the underside of the bed - Anyone know where I might find this stuff?

Any answers on the fogging of the gauges?

Welcome to TBN and congrats on your new RTV.
Still haven't heard anything on the gauges. Do you have the fogging issue?

I noticed the fogging in the fuel gauge less than 1 hour into use - I just assumed it was from the humidity outside...

just curious, what issues did you have with the belt drive? i have a mule 2500 and love it, never had a problem with the belt drive at all, seemed to me like a good simple drive system

HI,
I READ IN ONE OF THE POST ON HERE THAT THE FOGGING OF THE GAUGES, WAS A FACTORY DEFECT.
THE GAUGES WHERE NOT SEALED RIGHT AT THE FACTORY,
AND KUBOTA WAS LOOKING FOR ANOTHER VENDER.
IT ALSO STATED THEY SHUOLD BE COVER UNDER YOUR WARRANTY FOR REPLACEMENT. YOU MIGHT CHECK WITH OTHER MEMBERS THERE ALL HAVEING THE SAME PROBLEM.
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU OUT. CHICK

Congrats on your new machine. You may want to check with your kawasaki dealer (since your mule had it) or other dirt bike/atv dealer for the stick on insulated material.

Most of these dealers carry it.

Some auto parts stores also carry this.

Having driven hydrostatic tractors, the transmission differences will not be that hard to get used to - but it is different than the Mule. It's nice to not hear that belt knocking against the Mule engine housing and to feel the obvious power increase the RTV has. But without a doubt, the power steering is the most noticable difference. After I installed the lift kit, rims/tires, top, and extra lights, I truly enjoyed my Mule, but the RTV is pretty amazing. Power, hill climbing, "cab" comfort, steering, load pulling, all better than my Mule.

Picked up from Line-X yesterday, they sprayed the liner all the way under the outside lip of the bed - nice touch. Now if someone will make us an affordable trunk liner to go under the hood, we will get the needed storage space... (My dealer had that $160 Kubota model installed - I asked him take it off)

Adding the rear lights, interior led, and winch tonight. Will be bowhunting Friday - hopefully will be able to put the RTV to the test down some rugged firebreaks on the property to pick up a nice whitetail I've been watching...

It is a pretty simple design and has performed well, but at around 500 hours I noticed some slipping and knocking noise from the belt.

I know someone who's going to manufacture something for under the hood storage. Not yet done but keep an eye out on www.hunterworks.com. It should be coming soon. I'm going to get one myself.
