How do you de-bark your logs? Do you de-bark them before you saw them? Or does the bark fall off in the drying process? Or???

I let age debark them, either before I cut the logs if the logs have been sitting a while, or after I cut the logs, just stack the flitches up, and as they dry the bark comes off.

I have a weather proof box for misc. targets rests and other non valuable stuff by my range so there is less to bring out and less to forget. I use to have a old safe there but then we got a hold of some thermite and that was the end of it.:DLove the rustic siding  B cool to do the roof with the same stuff just plywood framing then ice and water whole roof then do the half round wood . That's the way they do cedar shake roofs now cedar is just for looks and to protect the ice and water rubber.:cool2::drink:

Yeah, I have brass all over this place, reloadables I try to pick up but I never find all of them.. And I kinda like seeing brass in odd places. Like a neighbor of mine once said, " someday they will think there was a great battle on this site"!

Yes I want to have some sort of weatherproof storage out there so I don't have to fill my truck every time we go shooting. Thinking about a couple of storage benches to put stuff in and have a place to sit also. Not exactly sure how to make them weather proof though.

I used to just burn all those cutoffs, what a waste!! Need to build a rack to store them ..

A sawyer friend of mine has people who come by and get those cutoffs for their outdoor wood boilers. My neighbor leaves his trailer there. When it's full, the neighbor goes picks it up, empties it and then takes it back.

The neighbor has (mostly) free wood and the sawyer stacks and loads once and never has to deal with it again. And it gets burned far more efficiently than just open air burning, plus the energy is actually used vs. wasted. Win, win, win, win.
