you hunt 4570 [what you shooten there tex ] is a line from a old movie or tv show I forgot . Another line we use from old movie is[ nice shooten tex]. Just a running joke. What cal. is the bolt action in the rest ? Most people are into AR 's now a days . I shoot a Rem. 700 bdl 30/06 ,leopeuld vx6 boone and crocket 50mm ,bi pod home made raised cheek piece to much other crap to list . I started shooten Hornaday custom lite 125 g sst cause I have 2 hernated discs in my back and I can't take the recoil anymore. I would like to buy a lower recoil rifle but I am torn between a Ruger 77 / 17 and another Rem. 700 vtr in 223.:confused3: Just looken to see what else is out there.:drink:

Ok, sorry, I did live in Texas for a number of years.... The gun sitting there in the rest is a Tikka T3x Hunter in Stainless with a fluted barrel.. 6.5 Creedmoor.

Yeah, I do not "run with the pack" I don't even own an "AR".. I do have a SCAR 16s instead though. I kind of got tired of the whole black rifle craze and prefer wood myself. I've had both my shoulders redone and was looking to reduce some recoil myself a while back. Shot a Win M70 for years in 3006 but it was getting to be a bit much on my shoulder, Not bad for that one shot hunting, but if I wanted to play at the range it got to be a pain.. literally.

Have a look at a Tikka (made by Sako) great rifle and very accurate, and the 6.5 CM is a pleasure to shoot and still allows some distance shots.. a deer at 3-400 yds if needed would be no big deal..

Hunt, we must have seen the same bench plans online. Son and I built two of them one for 100 yard and one for 200/300 yard. Good solid design. The plywood sounds like a good idea but, like you, I don't like plywood outside. So far ours have served us well.

Oh, I like the rifle rest you added to the side, will have to do that!

Both my benches will access both the 100 & 300 yard ranges from where they are at.

I like your 3 point carryall, very much like mine, looks like the same TSC frame also..

The rifle rest does come in handy. I have two locations which allows me to have one right outside the back door of the shop for the 100 yard range. I am also working on a pistol range the opposite direction from that shooting position with the berm at 20 yards. Then the 200/300 I have to go to the other end of the property. The 300 makes use of the same berm as the 100 but the 200 is yet another berm. When I get it all done I'll post some photos. Work keeps getting in the way.

The carry all is a TSC frame. I need to adapt it to work with my quick hitch and it would get used a lot more. Not sure how to go about that though.

Yeah, I have a little pistol range behind one of my little buildings close to the house so I can pop out and shoot without a lot of prep..

My carryall pretty much lives on my tractor, I rarely take it off unless I need to mow or something.

Yes it is one of those new fangled rolly brass picker upper thingamabobs! Eh... It kinda works, some of the time... If the ground was smooth it might be better.. but its not. It does work, just not all that great.

Ya still don't know do ya?? Sorry, that's the best I can do.

And my typical set up, this is at 300 yds. Might need to raise my berm a ittle.

Looking good Hunt! I like the gongs due to the quick feedback. Used to have some bowling pins but they got so shot up I had to get rid of them. Surprises people how hard they are to knock over and off the table. Had severtal friends that would look at me like "What?" as a pin laid spinning on the table instead of falling off after a non-center hit.

Thanks ABNB

Yes I love to hear the sounds of those gongs getting hit.

Yeah, its amazing sometimes how those pins react when they are shot..

I get pins when I go bowling.. just ask for them and they normally will give them to you.
