In respect to the Ranger, it is an amazingly capable machine and I can use an off-road in the woods. Modern technology such as a Genie or lull would be handy but this was $2000, Bullet proof Continental, never fails to start even below zero temperatures, Never fails to lift ( Under rated at 6000 pounds, more likely 8000+) and has required one mast bearing in the years that I致e owned it
I prefer granny gear, I haven稚 taken it up to its top speed of 21 mph or so. It also has a reasonable tow rating

I use Fluid film on my steel implements that are in open sheds, works great for a couple of years.
Just a lot more waxy stuff in it I believe. Which also makes it a bit messy.

Why not a traditional black undercoat? Fluid film adds slipperyness, is that a help on undercoating?

I like it for all the underneath fasteners
I have never really found an undercoat that I like (probably due to poor surface prep, maybe if put on when new??)

I do like POR15 and use that on bare metal/ light rust

FF is hard to beat, 5 min to spray jeep, 10 for truck and lasts the season,

With the cold, nice day to forge(shape) the new light bracket for the jeep.
There is a curve that I have to match
Chose heat as I don稚 have the correct dies for the hossfeld

Finished up forging the bracket then took the Excalibur micro out for some target practice
Soda can gives u reference as to how small this bow is. Weight is around 5 lbs. It still does 355ft/sec (280lb draw wt)

Wish this Stanford lift saw some oil. I figured I would make sure I could remove the ram before getting it installed. Glad I did. Pins had to be drilled out. Also started fitting the LED bracket after forging.

I did, neighbor had them with many failure issues. Basically it was the only option I didn’t select. I’m happy thus far. It rides well and trailer hooks are not hard for me atm.

Failure by design, started mounting the doors on the Jeep after buying hinge sockets. The upper hinge was way off to start.


I considered just making a new socket where it sat but after looking closer, not only were the upper hinges mounted low, they were on the wrong doors.
I then noted that the lower hinges were also swapped making for a large door gap.


So everything came apart and put together the right way
First the lowers installed, gap fixed.



There is a missing filler piece creating a gap at window frame, u can see where the prior owner had affixed a shim. I may use the old holes and put some flashing on for the time being.

Doors are just for winter driveway plowing, the other 3 seasons, no doors.
I suspect the prior owner put lower hinges on backwards first leading to further and further errors. The other possibility is the lack of the filler piece and a crazy work around

For the life of me I couldn’t find my wood bandsaw table insert. (It was even red!)
So grabbed a blank and made one. I found a nice size scrap blank that only required me remove a few tenths but it hard stuff (H-13.) Much better when I switched to carbide.
