I agree, I really want to take out new payday loans with a random disconnected number robocaller company, google really is calling me asking for my website password, and the fellow calling with a heavy Indian accent identifying himself as Mr.Smith really does work for Revenue Canada Agency and I really do have criminal proceedings against me that need to be paid NOW using apple gift cards and bitcoin.
I'm still trying to figure out how I called myself yesterday with a computer generated voice and left myself a message.

Got a call from a telemarketer last night; Caller ID said it was local, but the guy was a telemarketer who could barely speak English...so I talked to him in Pig Latin until he hung up on me. Next time I think I'll speak in Jive language.

I gotta get at this project I had been planning for my business phone system. I have a button marked F-Off. When I see one of those suspect numbers, I press it and the annnouncer answers the call and plays the recording " Im sorry the number you have dialed is no longer in service". I have a digital call announcer I would use for that.
I'm hoping, that will immediately have you removed from their lists, or put into a list of non issued numbers. They don't like to waste any time calling those numbers.

I have mine play the official Ma Bell message "the number you have reached has been disconnected" to confuse the call bots and hopefully blacklist my number. The spammers sell phone number lists with "live answerers" because they are more valuable.

Yep. At most I will look at the number and wait for the 'leave a msg', if none left - spam.

I'm just glad I don't own a business that depends upon phone service. I leave my cell phone off. All the time. I will turn it on if I want to make a phone call. All others can leave a message if it's so darn important.

I do not answer the phone unless it is someone I know, even then I let the answering machine get it. If they leave a message, I'll pick it up or return the call, otherwise I consider it to be spam. Likewise, if I'm calling a tradesman, I really don't expect them to answer, so I'll leave a message so they know I'm for real.

I'm not sure but I suppose that it's more than 25 years. I know I get those calls on my '97 Chevy pickup
What idiots. It's often a notice of "Final Notice". Oh gosh - now I'm worried (NOT).
