Tires New tires for my PT

I have purchased rims and tires off of Ebay, and I believe that Ditch Witch wheels will fit. I also purchased some from the local flea market vendor. I also had some made up at the local wheel and tire plant. I wold suggest no tubes and about a half gal of Slime or equivalent.

Rims for the 1850 online? I am alll over that. I you see a link, let me know

I have no choice on the tubes. I have used Ultra Seal (Did you know it takes 5 gallons to do an 1850?) Punctures are not really my problem, it is broken valve stems and junk into the rim...

Are you talking about machine rollover, or tire roll off? I purchased 5 gal of some industrial tire sealer off Ebay, and have just a little bit left. You really don't know if it works, until you count all the nails and screws in the tires. The lugs on the bar tires keep a lot of the tread off the ground. 4 or 6 ply is good if you can find them.

J_J, I actually rolled the PT over on its side and the tire unseated from the rim. I had bought the ROP when I purchased my 422, so it was not all that bad. I did have to bring my jack out to lift it enough to push it back up right . I had to fix the tire in place. I lost some oil and gasoline and had to clean up the spill. Not to bad, but very embarassing. That Gempler super seal works great. Thanks for recommending it.

Thanks JJ. They might go on the 1850 but they are not the same style... Mine are SUPER deep (One slides of the wheel motor, the other sticks out) and they have a ring to keep them seperated. I think they are PT custom...

Yes, I think PT makes them. You could possibly cut out the "hub" and weld it to the new rims.

I haven't been able to find a supplier. The closest that I found was a rim manufacturer that makes rims to spec. but the ones Ken found look really close- do you know the offset?

What is the center hole width, and spacing on the lug holes.

As I said before, I had a company make up a set of rims for my 1445. The center was 3/8 steel, rather than stamped.

Here is a couple of pix of the rims. It is confusing, but yes, there is a spacer, about 2" thick... Its is easy to miss and tends to stick to one rim so when swapping. The rims are universal (Inside and outside the same).

The people that made my rims are called Southern Wheel and Tire, located in Jacksonville, FL. They take an open center 12 in X 8.5, and weld in the center piece, off-set as to your plan. They can probably weld in the stem protectors. You all do know why there are tire stems on both sides of the rim

My wheels were replacements. I can not use duals on the 1445. Since then, I have found about 4 more wheels, and a bunch of lug tires.

If you have a Ditch-Witch place in your town, take a measuring device and measure their tires and rims.
