I suggest ask in the Hydraulics Forum. I expect the answers will be that the loader control valve you found is the preferred replacement for all similar-size tractors.

My own knowledge is limited so I don't want to push an opinion, but that one seems to have all the specs correct for this application, ie features and preset psi, and its a reputable brand.

I had to do some minor fabrication to suspend the control below the (movable) shelf that the old valve had rested on top of. And the hoses now had to exit below the valve rather than upward as before. If your replacement has similar issues, then consider what will take to fabricate a mount. Be sure the joystick motions aren't upside down in the mount position you choose!

For me I prefer that the hoses now exit at the bottom, that's a distinct advantage in my orchard where I was snagging upward-looping hoses on orchard branches. YMMV.

@California, I see the controller you purchased is still available at Amazon. I found this. What do you think? I'll have to do some plumbing but some of the hoses are shot so I think that's inevitable. This looks to have regen on the dump and float on the other spool. Is there anything else I should be paying attention to when shopping for these? PSI?

Not California but just a comment. Maybe you posted pictures of your current valve or maybe you stated whether it was plumbed with power beyond. Don't want to go back through the whole thread looking but just make sure if your old valve is plumbed with power beyond that you get the kit with the new valve. the relief pressure set at 2000psi would be about right for your 240.

I can't honestly say I know what power beyond is. My current setup is one supply line, one return line and the 4 loader lines coming out of the top. There's a plugged port that has a PB on it. I suppose that could be power beyond. Like California, I think I'd prefer the hoses exit the bottom, less cluttered and less "in the way". I'll post over in Hydraulics because I'm also curious if this could be mounted horizontally such that the hoses exit the bottom (more protected?) and the lever arm reaches toward the drivers seat.

I hope these photos can help you configure your new loader control:

Here's my Before photo. AICO brand controller. (Also shows my chain carry tube .. a kid-size golf bag lashed on to the loader upright).

And After.

Prince LVT1GB5AB1. (Prince's catalog photo, confusing!) Has float, not regeneration. Exit ports are on bottom when control levers are mounted upright in conventional configuration.

The hydraulics group will likely recommend you going with power beyond and it gets somewhat complicated. Just an old man's opinion here, go just like you are plumbed now and don't worry about the power beyond. It works for you now, it works for California, so don't complicate the situation.

There's certainly something to that. From the limited amount I've learned about PB, it seems it allows fluid and pressure to pass through this controller to additional devices. Is that the just of it? I suppose in an ideal world there would be uses for that but I'm not sure my tractor has enough flow to really make use of that. PB is not high on my list, a controller that does't leak, has float, and fits the budget, are what I'm more concerned about.

That is the just of it. Keeps from putting back pressure on the control valve when using other devices.

You can use it if you think you ever would have something else? But keep in mind you would not be running this other item and the loader at the same time. Just like your not useing the loader to lift a bucket and a bush hog at the same time. there would not be flow for it all and plus how can you really use them all anyway at the same time. You need one hand to steer, one hand would have to be on the 3pt lever and one on the loader plus watching it all. Or if you have a seperate item like a tiltable blade on the back or a hydro something else how can you be running a loader and doing this other task anyway?

I would keep it simple. California has been here for years and i have never heard him say i wish i had PB valve.

This looks exactly like mine only with less fluid and gunk covering it. Our two machines must be long lost brothers. Did you end up with new hoses to go from the controller to the rigid lines along the inside of the loader arm? I don't see the plumbing for the supply/return for the loader. Mine runs, via two flex hoses, right along that foot rest to a box mounted below the seat. Am I just missing it in the photo? This controller more or less completely closes off access to the operator's station from this side of the tractor. Does that bother you? I've got that reservoir tank basically in the same spot, but I'm (still, but who knows for how much longer) thin enough to squeeze by it. I haven't used the machine enough to know yet if losing access from one side would really bother me. How do you feel about it?

i wouldnt worry about it. Just get on and off from the one accessable side. You dont get in and out of your truck from either door, you always use the driver one. Well its a bit different because you would have to crawl across a seat but you see my point.

Unless you just want to tinker i would just simplify it and leave it how it is and just mount the new valve that claifornia linked you too. This is just me!
