Well, new to me. I just picked up a used 2004 Chevy 3500 dump truck 4x4 with a 9' western plow. The 6.0 and automatic runs well. The truck has 58,000 miles. Dump box has no rust and entire truck has been undercoated heavily. This past weekend I kept busy. On Saturday I did the usual clean up work on the truck, checking things out, replaced the trailer plug from a 6 to a 7 pin, oil and filter change, greased, fixed the tailpipe that was hanging, repainted the outside of the dump box and installed a revolving light. Still have a couple U-joints to replace on the transfer case to front axle driveshaft and replace the cutting edge on the plow blade. On Sunday I switched to trailer work installing a four new brakes with the complete kit assemblies from Etrailer. Also replaced all the wheel studs and lug nuts.

Man I would love that. The only thing close that comes for sale here are the flat deck one tons with a hoist from a near by lumber yard. I like it

Hey, that's a fine looking truck. Congrats--you did good

My 2004 Isuzu NPR tilt cab stakebed truck (8x14 ft Supreme bed) has the 6.0L LQ4 GMC gas engine and a 4L80E 4-speed auto tranny--very similar to your 3500 dumper. Bought it 2 years ago off eBay for $11K with the odometer showing 49,500 miles. It has plenty of power, is a gas hog, and is fairly lightweight (only 12,000 lb GVWR), weighs about 7100 lb with 3/4 tank of gas and me and my tools aboard. I assume your 3500 has a higher rating.

Enjoy your find.

Time for some updates.
Replaced the U-joints mentioned in post 1, Rebuilt the plow with new bolts where needed, cutting edge, shoes, guide markers and repainted. Installed an under bed chain box. New rear calipers and pads, rotors are on order. New brake bleeders in front. Painted inside of dump body. repaired tailgate release arm that was froze up. Got it registered and inspected. This weekend coming I should replace the fuel filter and spark plugs.
