Congradulations on your new toy! Now
you can show us pic's of your new toy in
action or what you have done with it. I
don't see a cab on it????

Keep hearing this weight, weight, weight
What do you think all this weight does to
your lawn?? More weight is great if you like
ruts in your lawn! My tractor weights approx
2600 lbs I have no problems or need for more
weight even when I use the tiller I don't bounce
around as I go slow so the tiller can do its job.

Why does it need a cab?

Haha..my solution is to minimize lawn. Lawn serves no purpose in the country. I guess I am lucky because my wife and I agree on that point.

I hear you. If I had unlimited funds, I would be like 5030 and have 1 of each. I am sure there are times I will curse not having a cab, but I have 2 big reasons for skipping it for now. 1) Money - $5k extra 2) most of my property is pine plantation, until it is cleaned up, the cab will get in the way and have some risk of breakage.

Little reason 3, I will not be doing much 'field' work. No hay or crops. That means most of my tasks will involve getting on and off the tractor frequently. Little reason 4, since I will be retired, I can do most tasks when me and the weather are in sync. That essentially means I would be spending a bunch of money to keep bugs off of me at times. Time will tell if that was my best option.

No body has looked at the Deutz Fahr
tractors. Do you have a Deutz dealer
near you?? I would like some ones
first hand knowdlege of how they are.
I was looking at the 5080D on the net
it looks great from what I can tell by reading
and looking at the pictures but the closest
dealer to me is over 4 1/2 hours from me.

The extra money you pay will be worth it in the future. Extra weight with extra Hp / PTO power will make you smile in years to come. I had rather be making payments on the extra I paid for bigger tractor than to have a smaller tractor that’s paid for.
