New tractor :)

On the 30 HP engine, I run ~1500 RPM generally and I mow at ~2100 RPM.

I rarely run it wide open (2500). Some say good, some say not good. It works for my use.

Nice looking machine

Congratulations!!!
In Casey County, Kentucky all week and missing my baby.
Be back midweek, although there aren't alot of chores to do, I'll think of something to get back on it. :D

The folded ROPS on the 2320 are indeed lower than the fixed ROPS on the BX1860 was. Thus, though a taller tractor, it will actually allow passage under things that i couldn't travel under before.

You'll love it! Best regards,

Oh No, John......do I smell another new orange machine coming to your dooryard...
Can't afford another one without trading and I'm not willing to give up either of the three I have. Ones paid off next year so maybe then.:)

Nothing like new shiney toys - congrats

Couple of questions for other B owners. What RPM do you usually run at when just traveling around doing light loader work?
Light loader work ..... same as crbr - usually around 1500 or so ....

And what RPM for mowing?
Depends .... today and yesterday I was cutting fairly short/thin and somewhat dormant grass and vacuuming up leaves and wasn't in any kind of a hurry ... ran around 1800 rpm ...

B2910 with a 72" MMM

Thanks for the replies. I was curious because the tractor performs fine at the lower RPM but I'm still in BX mode where I rev it up a bit especially mowing where I used to run around 2900. I can't wait to see what this thing will do in snow.

More seat time today. I go out to the end of our road and dig out rocks every year that cause me problems while mowing. It's slowly making a difference and today was the first time with the B vs the BX. Both tractors seem very similar in digging power. There is a noticeable difference in getting rocks out but it's not a big difference. Loader is harder to see on The B when trying to finesse a rock out. I can drive over things I had to go around before which is nice. Drove up and down some fairly steep banks without any feelings of being tippy vs the BX. I love the little slots to hold the 3PH in the up or down position. As stupid as it sounds, it's nice to just set it in the slot and go full up or down without holding the lever. Still not used to the go pedal positions but it's getting better.
I really like the tractor. The size, speed, and look of the tractor strike me as just right. At 6' 2" the Bx actually had more room to move around and was easier to get on and off. If I was looking for just my property the BX was and is perfect for me. I'll report more later as I do more but Having the B made me appreciate what a great tractor the BX really was. I'm liking the metal parts, higher top speed, more ground clearance of the B. It's been said by many and it's really true. If you need the ground clearance or top speed, go B. If not either one will do 90% of anything you need almost equally as well. Just my .02

Nice choice harpoonalt.

I just ordered a B2320 and am waiting on delivery so real interesting following your early experiences on the new toy. Keep the posts coming, it's helping me get through this real tough time

You know, the tractors just fine but I really enjoy seeing peoples homes, yards and where they live. Yours looks very inviting! Thanks for the pictures.

The tractor was delivered an hour ago. First impression is it's big. Compared to the BX it seems much longer and taller though the width feels the same. On the BX I felt more like I sat in the tractor where on the B I feel like I'm perched up on top. I now talk down to people where I used to be at eye level. The loader control seems much quicker and being able to use it at idle is nice. The location of the lever seems much more natural to me. I'll have to adjust to the location of things and get used to the ergos. The tip of my boot got caught behind the brake pedal when letting off on the forward pedal.
Thankfully I remembered the ROPs before flying into the garage as it's an inch too high to fit. Bet I have a post on that sometime in the future. The 3 ranges is nice but H is definitely travel only with no decent hills. M seems to work well around the yard, haven't tried L yet.
Access to things seems much easier under the hood. Haven't taken the loader off but looks to be a tighter fit to get at the connections.
Hope to get out and use it soon to better report. I will say I was sad to see the BX go. It did everything I needed and did it well. It really felt like an extension of me when I was on it. Hopefully the new one becomes that familiar as well. Not complete without pics!

Thanks for the comments. Our first house had 10 acres and I did everything by hand and small utility tailer. No tractor, not even a lawn tractor. We were a young couple with not much money. We did some improvements and a lot of sweat equity stuff. We sold to build our 2nd house in the city with less than 1/2 acre of land. I hated every minute of it, but we spent 20 years there and it was convenient while raising the kids. A lot of sweat equity in that house too. Older, maybe wiser and with kids mostly out of the house, my wife relented and let us get out of the city. I've never been happier. Finally got the tractor I should have had over 20 years ago, have some land and great neighbors and get to play on our common land.
While building our current house, a friend who had also just built gave me some great help. Mostly it was pointing out the stuff he liked and the stuff he thinks he should have done different. He was brutally honest and that really was appreciated. When our neighbor built, I did the same. I don't think anyone ever gets it 100% right but If you can help get them close:)
Anyway, my thread on my trade is meant to do that. Brutal honesty. It's a lot of money we spend and I know I appreciated others honest reviews. Pics included ...I like em tooo!

Its too bad they don't make a kubota truck for you to buy and add to your orange fleet.

Beautiful house and property. My wife and I took a similar path including living in town for twenty year for our children. It was hard, but the best for our children. We built a new home in the country fifteen years ago when our youngest son, who was in high school said he would like living in the country. Our parents also needed help about this time. We love it.

Beautiful property. I followed a similiar path. Lived downtown for 17 years and redone a house built in 1923. Bought 5 acres about 7 years ago. Have since built my own home with my wife and brothers help. Sold my brother a lot and helped him and his wife frame theirs.
Has been a labor of love and it's the way I designed and built it for my family.
An Orange truck? Maybe Kubota will do one.:)
Also, financial situation looks like it is changing so back to serious pondering of the RTV900.:)

Fantastic Larry, very easy to see why you love it.

We are very fortunate indeed. We found out recently that my wife's 90 year old uncle use to play in that very barn as a child and young man. It was owned by a different family at that time. The beams are mortise and tenon with pegs and some were hand hewn. It was gutted over the years to park equipment; wish I had some original pictures.

Nice barn! I did the 3 car garage but it's full already. I would love a barn to keep all my stuff in. Country living sure has it's perks....best one is you get to have a tractor!

We are still kicking ourselves for not building our house with a three car garage.

Funny thing is when I was growing up on a farm, I couldn't wait to move to the city.

Funny how life takes you places. Spent our entire career living in places not of our choosing and mostly suburban.

When it came time for semi-retirement and heading toward full retirement, we also headed for the country, something not easy for my wife, as she was a city girl.

I am grateful, honestly really grateful to be finally be back in the country. Started with a BX and loved it, but when the gardening grew into a bigger scale than what I had anticipated, I too moved on to B2320 a few weeks back.

Parallels. It's interesting. We are very blessed.
