Looks like spraying will waste lots of paint. Lots of air to paint.
Spray at a shalow angle, rather than straight on. If you look through the mesh at diferent angles, you can see that at shalow angles you can't see through as well. I figure that way will catch more paint. If they wern't welded down you could stack them and spray them together. Now the painting has to be finished. Looks like spraying will waste lots of paint.
Finished putting deck on this morning. That 3# expanded is definitely a pain to cut. Two 4 x 8 sheets completed the deck with almost zero waste.

My local metal supplier suggested the 3# as they supply quite a bit of it for car carriers. The clear span in the strong direction is only 20 inches and it's welded down every 8 to 10 inches. I'll know better when I load my 3500# tractor in a few weeks. Is the expanded metal going to be strong enough to support a 3500 lb vehicle if parked between the cross braces?
Are you going to make cover plates for the inside of the fenders to prevent dirt, stones, mud etc form coming off the tires and hitting the towed vehicle?
What is the tag you have on the tongue in post 49?
Very nice build.

Haven't decided on the cover plates yet although I think I am leaning that way.
The tag is the serial number supplied by Department of motor vehicles which has to be verified in place on the trailer by the police before the trailer can be liscenced.
Terry, obviously I know nothing of your area's resources, but I found weld-on rings at my local steel supply (no NOT Homeless Despot :=) - it's Ram Steelco. They have a section of shelving on one side of the office with axles, fenders, couplers, etc, and a couple different sizes of tie-down rings - the weldable part is kind of a mini-version of the pieces I just bent with the "superjig" you helped me with (pre-heat thread)
Just a thought, if you haven't already looked at yours.
Or, if there's nothing local (I know, Canada shipping, PITA, etc)
