New Trailer For My BX

Well I picked up my new trailer last weekend and am in the process of getting it setup for towing my BX. It is an aluminum trailer and I decided the gate would need some reinforcement to handle the BX as the supports were not on line with the tires. SO I went to my local Fab shop and had them weld in some 5" aluminum C channel to handle the unit. Works perfect now!

Next I need to get the tiedowns mounted. I had the fab shop make some 1/4 steel backing plates about 3x3 1/2" to put under the deck boards so I can mount the tie downs. I am also planning on making sure that the steel plates will overlap the lip of the C-channel supports that run across the trailer.

Anyhow, here are some pictures....first is my old trailer setup for perspective. It is a 6x10' that is in the local Shopper for sale.

Now for the new one with the Kubota on it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I ended up going with a 16' even though I almost bought the 14' but last minute decided I probably would never regret the extra 2'. Glad I did.

That aluminum trailer would eb stolen and cut to scrap around these parts. The metal yards will buy anything, stolen or otherwise. Even stainless steel beer kegs were a target.

Boy I don't want to hear that! I guess I better go buy a better lock setup and maybe lock around the tree with motion sensors and land mines /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I like to think that the area I live in that wouldn't happen, but today you never know and with the price going up it surely is worth more (even as scrap) than it used to be.

Randy; Great looking trailer. I am thinking about replacing my 6.5'x12' single axle aluminum trailer with one the size you bought. What brand of trailer is it? Where did you buy it? You are just north of me here in NY.
