New type of knee surgery!!

The only advice I'm giving on medication is to take it exactly as instructed.

Exactly......too much oxycontin and you start to look like Rush Limbaugh......then again.....maybe you'll get your own radio show????

I am frankly afraid to go back and read what I have written on this post. Wife says I have had totally inappropriate conversations with neighbors, friends, relatives, the past few days. Seems like the pain meds threw me for a loop. A new computer system screwed up the instructions printed out for dosage and....anyway.....it has been a mess.

So I will try to explain a little better what was done to me.

The doctor kept pushing in on one spot on my knee and asking me if it hurt. And it did. So the way he explained it is like this. The pain is coming not from missing cartilage. It is coming from the deterioration of the bones in the knee joint. The MRI showed the weak points in the bone and the cement injected will strengthen the bone and stop the pain.

Best I can do with less than half my wits about me.

Will keep other knee pain sufferers informed on the results of this surgery. Right now it is hurting. Hurting. Hurting.

Hope the hurt goes away. Will be praying for you. Would of liked to be a fly on the tractor when you talked to your neighbors on Oxcy.

I'm 71 and had both knees replaced Sept 2014. When I went back for my 6 month check up, I was complaining about still having pain in my left knee, then about three weeks later, I noticed that I was sleeping a lot better and pain was mostly gone. Knees working great now, can go up and down steps with no pain, but they get a little stiff if I set for a while in a low chair. It was probably tougher than having one done, but only had one recovery. Would do the same over again. Three people that I know who have had knee replacement have told me that I'd never be able to kneel again, but in last three months, I've proved them wrong.

You didn't say anything bad that I remember. When I had a colonoscopy a few years ago, the wife said I was "inappropriate" when I woke up from the anesthesia. I don't remember anything but absolute lucidity.:) She said I was somewhat incoherent even when we went out to eat at a restaurant. I don't remember any of that. Obviously these drugs have some interesting effects on some of us.

Had to laugh out loud RSKY . With you not at you . I had a colonoscopy 12/29 and I guess I was quite the entertainer for a couple hours afterwards .

I once had some minor surgery in my right thumb. There was a cyst that went all the way to the joint. The doctor was apologetic to my wife when they wheeled me out. Said I wouldn't shut up and the nurses couldn't work for laughing. Finally had to put me under when I invited the entire nursing staff out for lunch. Four or five nurses then came in to check in me. All of them laughing.

Meds affect different people different ways.
