I have discovered what the nurse meant by "take your medication and stay ahead of the pain". Yep, I have become a wuss. No more laying in the bed writhing in pain trying to man it out. Nope. Learned my lesson.

I am walking without my crutches. Pain is less. It will take six months before we know the final results.

I have a long list of people interested in my results. A lot of people are looking at knee replacements. Anything that will push that event into the future is of interest to a lot of people.

I will keep you informed.

Definitely stay on top of the pain and just as important, TAKE LOTS OF STOOL SOFTENERS.

Sounds like the clinic we are using for the rooster comb shots. Lots of people do not want to have replacement surgury. I had someone ask me the other day about my knee. I told her it was worn out but the shots are helping. She wondered why not get replacements?

I cannot take on the downtime right now being in the middle of downsizing. That and the complications that I had when I had my rotator surgury. I would much rather prolong it as long as I can.

I do know only one person that had complications after knee replacement. He had scar tissue issues limiting his range of motion.

I plan on asking the doctor at my clinic about this new procedure to get his thoughts.

One other thought I want to add for those members following this thread that may be using a knee brace to help their daily activities. The clinic provided me with a brace with four straps. Two above the knee, two below. The intention is to seperate the joint and take the pressure off the knee. I had been wearing braces reinforced with metal on both sides. No way those types can relieve like the one I described.

You had better add me to that long list.

There is no way anybody is going to stick a needle into my knee while I am awake. Knock me out and they can have their way with my body.:)
I was out cold the first time my knee was rebuilt in 1958 and as far as I am concerned I will be out cold when it gets done again.

LOL! The stuff that they spray on my knee when I get my rooster comb shots makes the needle going in not so bad. I even watch the screen to see what the doctor sees. What is kinda of painful is when they change the vial twice and fill er' up.

:laughing::laughing: Showing my age here... The visual in my head when you said, "when they change the vial twice and fill er' up." was of the old time oil cans where you had to stick in the spout to pour the oil.... :D:D:D

Bigtller isn't that the truth, I had had a knee replaced 6 months ago and they told me I would be able to do the things I normally do in 8 weeks . I would go back for check ups and then they said," up to a year" big difference from 8 weeks . I had to sleep in a recliner for 3 months , was on oxycodone for 6 weeks and did have some withdrawals but not to bad when I just decided enough is enough . The 2 months of P. T. did help a great deal . I know some people who had no problems at all , I wasn't one of them . Would I do it again , you bet , as I can now walk as much as I want , can't kneel down very good but that will come with time . I'm sure glad I was retired as there would have been no way I could have worked standing on my feet for any length of time during the first 4 months or so .
