New warranty BX seat!

I had the original seat on mine and suffered with it. It's the kind of thing you don't notice until after you've had one of these with the old seat for a while, and spend longer lengths of time on it. Even then, at least for me, I didn't really associate the ergonomics of the seat with my discomfort and sore back and legs, etc., for quite some time. I finally sort of figured out that it was the holding-yourself-back-in-the-seat-all-day that was causing it.

I bellyached about the seat on these machines a couple times on this site in somewhat related threads. Someone asked me if I had gotten the seat replaced, and I also found the thread on the replacements that dealers had been doing. (I joined this site well after the replacement program had expired, unfortunately.)

Like you, I searched around a bit but I guess I knew that I really wanted a Kubota seat. I finally just ended up working with my dealer to get a current BX seat at a reasonable price. They were no longer doing a free replacement but I thought they did right by me. You should give your dealer a call and see if they might be willing to work with you on the price some...

When I got my BX2350 it also had the terrible seat. I was lucky to get the upgraded seat which was a huge improvement.

But over time I got sick of the rough yard and upgraded to a Michigan suspension seat which is just as comfortable as the factory but a softer ride.
I did have to make some brackets and a spacer in the front to get it just right though and I haven't gotten the seat belts bolted back on yet. I think I'm going to have to modify them too.

Just acquired a BX24 with the old seat, only to find that Messick's no longer has or can get the B1013 seat.

We have it, just not under B1013 any more at the subsidized price that was offered. I am pretty positive we stock them under the part number, its just over $200.

I already bought a universal seat from Northern
High Back Kubota Tractor Seat — Black, Model# 53000BK | Construction Agriculture Seats| Northern Tool + Equipment

It's comfortable and well made, with a number of threaded insert holes to fit various bolt patterns - - only two of which fit the BX2230. I ended up TIG welding a couple of tabs to the Kubota seat mount so match up with another pair of the existing seat holes. (adding two more nutserts into the seat pan would have been much easier, however there were already threaded inserts in the pan close enough to were the holes needed to be that that idea wouldn't work.

Bottom line, the Northern 53000BK for $99 works, and the tractors new owner is tickled, but if I were doing it again I'd go ahead and copy Zick getting the Michigan seat.

Kubota really stepped up when it offered replacement seats...

I bought one and glad I did... the OEM was OK and certainly no wrongdoing on Kubota.

The new one just fits me better and is better in keeping me on it.

Well, I have a BX23 and knew nothing about the replacement seats until well after the replacement deal was up...I'll just suffer with what I have, but shame on Kubota for not letting the owners know they were willing to make good on a mistake. Not good on a 20k piece of equipment....Ain't paying $200 to fix their mistake...Other than that, and my aching back, I'm happy with the machine.

My back isn't the best either. And I can't disagree with you on the extent that Kubota did or didn't step forward. I think it may have been a dealer notification rather than a "recall" . . . if someone complains, replace it free (at least initially).

Bottom line is one's bottom. Trust me, your butt will be happier with a new seat, even though your wallet may not be so happy. 'Course it's your call, and wallet, and butt.

My butt is worth it.

May do the replacement someday...It's really right vs wrong in my opinion..The money is secondary..They blew it and should have let us know. I thought something wasn't right when I bought it but figured I'd get used to it as it was designed that way for some reason..10 Years later I still haven't figured out how some propeller head came up with that positioning..

I paid $14,950 for my new BX23.

By the time I heard about the upgraded seat here on TBN my BX was already out of warranty.

Called a local Dealer to confirm because my selling Dealer dropped Kubota and learned I could buy one for $50 plus tax and I did.

But, that was some time ago I bet. The free seat program lasted for awhile, then shifted to a subsidized deal (which you got), then apparently a semi-good deal that ended some time in 2011 apparently (I got one of those and it was about $90 or so). Program looks to be over, unless there's a dealer with old stock.

Just got my new B3350 today! Seat is very comfortable, suspenstion, adjustable back, arm rests . . . tractor is darn complicated, still learning - but nice!
