What a problem I had getting my new seat. I E-mailed Kubota Corporation, 3 time's first 1 time the answer was ;
-> Thank you for your email to Kubota. Unfortunately, the upgraded seat isonly available for purchase and can't be covered under warranty since theoriginal seat was not considered to be defective. You may want to call around and see if any dealers have them in stock at the reduced price because some dealers actually ordered a surplus at the discounted rate at the time of the bulletin. <-
The second e-mail told me this ;
-> The bulletin actually expired 06/15/07 and unfortunately, you would have to pay the asking price for this upgraded seat. I would encourage you to contact other dealers and see if they can ship it directly to you. <-
Now that I new the date the bulletin ended, I went and looked at the date I bought my BX. PIB-2007-027 bulletin came out 05/08/2007, my machine was bought on 05/10/2007, with the bulletin ending 06/15/07, I felt that I was well within the time limit KTC's had for dealers to get the replacement seat on my BX.
So I sent third e-mail to KTC's ;
-> My Original Inquiry: Now that I looked up the date that I bought the
BX2350, it is (05/10/2007) it was delivered 3 days after it was paid for. KTC said the bulletin actually expired 06/15/07 well with in the aloted time frame, then why couldn't I get my replacement seat for my
BX2350 back then? Also, why wasn't the seat put on the
BX2350 before it was delivered knowing it was to have had the upgraded seat? <-
The mesage they sent went a followed ;
-> I have forwarded your e-mail to the appropriate personnel so you should receive a response shortly. <-
Guess they read the questions I had been asking in the other e-mails that were sent them.
It was 2 days late when there was another message from KTC's ;
-> Dear Sir,
The seat program you are referring to was for limited number of units for alimited time period. It is unfortunate that your tractor appears to have been missed in this process. This was a Kubota sales/marketing program and consequently your request for a replacement seat has been forwarded to theKubota Central Division Sales Department. They will review your request and respond through your Kubota dealer. Thank you for owning Kubota products. <-
My BX has been missing bolt on the loader support, it was never put on from the factory . I had a appointment to bring my machine to get it fixed that upcoming Saturday. ( This is another problem tell about it later ) I was surprised when I got to the dealer the sales rep. told me that if I wanted the replacement seat that I could have it for $50.00. When getting to the parts counter they said it would have to be order an would be there by Tuesday, sure enough it was. The replace seat has been on the BX for a 3 days now. It is by far a better than the old seat, which by the way is almost ( bolt pattern is different ) like the seat on the old Murry 20hp that is resting in the barn now. Just over year it took to get this done, KTC took care of it. With 300hr on my BX now, it'll give my spine a brake.
Be well,
RunningWolfe
