They are over double the cost that we paid for the first lot, however they are dramatically cheaper than the $280 that it typically costs over the counter. To be very clear, we're not jacking up the price of the old seats to turn a profit as many dealers have. These cost us more, and thats reflected in the price. We've sensed that there has been more demand for these well beyond what our initial allotment of cheap seats where, so we found some more. As many posts around the internet will attest, this is about the best change you can possibly make to your tractor. I hope we can get the rest of you fixed up.

Can I get a free replacement seat for my 04 BX23? Is this all handled through my local dealer? And what information to I need to take in, original purchase reciepts etc.. I did not purchase it there and wonder if it would be more hassle than its worth, but would be willing to give it a try. thanks

there are no free seats. Some people had dealers who choose to give them away as a good will thing. We'll sell them online at a reduced price while they are still available, but once they are gone the price goes to $280.

Can't believe this is even still being discussed. Truly, an internet phenomenon. And a big Loser for Kubota.

Somebody doesn't like their seat and so the WHOLE FREAKING WORLD starts screaming bailout. I WANNA FREE SEAT! I WANNA FREE SEAT!

Kubota deserves a medal for their patience with this issue. And shame on you internet winers for taking advantage of Kubota's desire to protect their reputation.

You have probably added to the cost of every tractor for a few years.

Did you sit in the seat of your tractor before you bought it? Did you? If not why not? Did somebody tell you it wasn't allowed?

Pathetic. Really. Pathetic.

And you wonder why we are having an "economic downturn"? Because people want something for nothing. That's why. Bull**** Amazing to me. Amazing.

I'm not sure that people are still fussing about this, rather there is a substantial upgrade available at an affordable price and its in everyones best interest for this to come up once and awhile to get everyone on board.

sounds like someone didnt get a FREE SEAT its called quality control if you got a free one its customer service... the new seat was a big plus

Yea, I did not get any bail out and I am in the range of people of paying for it all, So all I can say is; Thank you Kubota for thinking about the working man for making my tractor time more pleasurable while my own government is making it harder for my middle class friends!

OH YEAHH!!! I got annoyed at being jostled around in my seat the other day and having to push my legs on the floor to keep my but in the seat while going over rough terrain and got fed up the other day. So I searched on here and found this old thread and I said this is just what I need. Checked online and Messicks still had some seats available at $99.95 and I was ready to go ahead with that but just figured I would call my delaer the next morning to check and see what they could tell me. I purchased my tractor at a wholesale auction so I didn't plan on the dealer helping a whole lot. Anyway the parts guy said let me check in the back, call me back in 10 minutes. So 30 minutes later i called back and they said yes they still had some seats snd they were supposed to offer them at cost at $25! So i said hold 1 for me. I just got it bolted on and can't wait for some seat time! It's my birthday today and my wife accused me of being more excited about my new seat than the wind chimes she gave me! Love the new seat!... and the wind chimes! :laughing::thumbsup:

I called several nearby dealers last weekend and they were all gone. One Dealer was still advertising the seats at $149.95, but they were out.
A dealer up in New Hampshire had started with 250 seats, sold 'em for $50 each... all gone.

Lucky for me, Messick's Farm Equipment still had 'em for just under $100.00! :thumbsup: The new order-one-at-a-time seats are way higher, from $280 up to $350.
Well I got my seat today! You know how the some folks have posted that it feels like a new tractor? It sure does!

Thanks Messick's. The parts guys on the phone were great and I got my new shop manual as well. You guys did a great job. :cool2:

A couple of years back, I purchased a BX2230 with the original seat. Learned about the "sloping seat" recall here and bought a replacement from Messick's (their part B1013) - - much better.

Just acquired a BX24 with the old seat, only to find that Messick's no longer has or can get the B1013 seat.

I've searched on-line but can't find this seat . . . any help with a replacement seat, part numbers, sources, etc. appreciated.
