Here's a testament to the FEL power of the LS. We scaled this stump and root ball at 2600lbs. My FEL is rated for 27xxlbs. I was able to load it onto the flatbed trailer (30" or so). I think that without the BB it would have picked up the back of the tractor and not lifted it. I did not try to raise it up any higher than necessary to get it on the trailer since it was no doubt a max load for the size and weight of my tractor. My rears are not loaded. I also scaled the tractor, it weights 6400lbs with the BB and front teeth attached. You can see the front tires (36psi) sinking and the rears (9psi) tiptoeing.

FYI I would not recommend anyone lifting something this heavy/awkward. I run equipment every day and took every precaution along with just very slowly moving to the trailer. This would be a great way to lay your tractor on its side if that shifted in the bucket.

That is a very nice tractor. You will really appreciate the HST when doing something precision like working next to a building or loading a truck or trailer when there is danger of hitting something. Working with forks is so much easier with an HST transmission.

Thanks! I am really enjoying it.

As far as the HST, I wasn't really interested in that at first. I don't like the whine that they all have and I don't like racing my engine to get the tractor to work.

Now that I have been using it in those tight conditions near fragile stuff like you have stated, I really, really like it!!!

I change implements often and with the HST its very easy to back into the 3 point hook up.

The big reason I went HST is that I want to run a 3 point trencher an need the slower ground speed at pto speed.

Oh and that cab is nice on the cold, windy and rainy days we have had too!

Congrats on the new machine! Looking good. I enjoyed my LS machines... and if they'd get their act together and source a loader with respectable lift height, I'd probably own one again in the future.

Congrats on the new tractor. I think they are really sweet, I got my 4140 on Jan.15 it has 44 hours on it now and I LOVE it.

Thanks! Seems these loaders are strong but dont lift high. Is that a trade off for the high lift capacity?

Thanks! Have you figured out a use for the engine speed control? I can make it work, I just dont know why I would need it.

Do you have the LS 3rd function kit by chance?

No I don't think so... My Massey lifts more than my LS did, and it's rated at 2527 @ 113", whereas the LS only lifts to 96". I'm not sure how the numbers would compare if rating them at different heights.

I also think Massey underrates their loaders, because my loader is rated for almost 1000 lbs less of breakout force, yet it out lifts my old LS in pallet fork lifts too.

LS sources these loaders from AmerEquip... I wish they'd just have them redesigned to add more height and especially, dump clearance.

Not sure if the higher lift cap. has anything to do with a lower lift height or not. Are you referring to the cruise control? I don't have that, I have the open station S/S. NO I don't have the 3rd function either maybe I will someday cause I sure would like to have a grapple.
