I don't think that is right, you can't just swap in any size tire that fits on a 24" rim on a 4wd tractor. The tractor is designed with certain combinations of front and rear tire sizes to get the right ratio and tire slip when in 4wd. Just my opinion.

Guess he said it like this they are both 24's and the actual height is just about the same only difference is its just wider, make sure they dont hit anything when turning. I guess time will only tell if anything goes wrong cause im not pulling them off....

Foreman, how wide is the front from outside edges of tires now?

If you knew the height of the old and new tires it could be figured up to how close it is to the original tires .

I will get it measured what the stock one is and what the new one is,as soon I get some stuff moved back home from lease. May be around sunday before get the tractor back home...

94BULLIT the new tires are only about an inch taller but the new 9.5s are an inch taller than the worn ones on the front of the older 7040....

you have lots of varying info here...even subtle differences in the ratio that you could not detect initially could drastically reduce the longevity of the 4wd drive train...i really would inquire @ K central before running these combinations....the 8540/9540 tire sizes are interchangeable, really would question the 7040 on those sizes though...but i like the idea of larger tires and hope it works out for you. did the service manager/mechanics okay it or the sales guy?

I don't know if a little difference would hurt. What is you had new front tires and bald rear tires, that would throw the ratio of some. I doubt it is perfect from the factory.

He said mechanic also agreed it would be fine. I know the salesman outside of work,he has been apart of my wifes grandfathers church for along time and he(salesman) goes by and checks on the grandfather since he cannot get around to much anymore. I guess what I am getting at is if he believe it would cause any damage to my tractor he would have told me,even if a maybe he would have told me not to do it,he didnt make any money off the tire deal.

You must be looking at the Hyd.shuttle and not the Sync.shuttle in the 7040. I almost got the 8560 but didnt really need it,it has some different controls in it that I liked and a few other things. I didnt even drive it,just set in seat:D.

Yes, I am looking at a power shuttle (Hyd.shuttle). The dealer said the tractors are going up 10% on September 1st. He also said he would not cover the warranty, if I put 11.2 tires on the front. If the price goes up on the 7040 to 44,220, I can get an 8560 HDC for 44,295.

Imagine that!

They try to get out of warranty for anything, suprised the dont say that about installing your own radio. If they would put something besides pizza cutters on the front,I wouldnt of had to put real ones on front, and eat the cost of them...
