I don't think that is right, you can't just swap in any size tire that fits on a 24" rim on a 4wd tractor. The tractor is designed with certain combinations of front and rear tire sizes to get the right ratio and tire slip when in 4wd. Just my opinion.
Foreman, how wide is the front from outside edges of tires now?
I will get it measured what the stock one is and what the new one is,as soon I get some stuff moved back home from lease. May be around sunday before get the tractor back home...
94BULLIT the new tires are only about an inch taller but the new 9.5s are an inch taller than the worn ones on the front of the older 7040....
you have lots of varying info here...even subtle differences in the ratio that you could not detect initially could drastically reduce the longevity of the 4wd drive train...i really would inquire @ K central before running these combinations....the 8540/9540 tire sizes are interchangeable, really would question the 7040 on those sizes though...but i like the idea of larger tires and hope it works out for you. did the service manager/mechanics okay it or the sales guy?
You must be looking at the Hyd.shuttle and not the Sync.shuttle in the 7040. I almost got the 8560 but didnt really need it,it has some different controls in it that I liked and a few other things. I didnt even drive it,just set in seat.
They try to get out of warranty for anything, suprised the dont say that about installing your own radio. If they would put something besides pizza cutters on the front,I wouldnt of had to put real ones on front, and eat the cost of them...Yes, I am looking at a power shuttle (Hyd.shuttle). The dealer said the tractors are going up 10% on September 1st. He also said he would not cover the warranty, if I put 11.2 tires on the front. If the price goes up on the 7040 to 44,220, I can get an 8560 HDC for 44,295.
Imagine that!
