I was looking at a 3320, but after I have reading posts on this forum I am looking at a 3720.

1) I got a dealer quote for both models, ~30 days apart. The discount on both was roughly the same, which surprised me as I would expect a higher discount on the 3720 given the higher price. Do discounts vary depending on the time of the year and are these driven by Deere or is it the dealer giving up some of their margin? Is fall a better time to buy than spring? I am not in a hurry and can wait.

2) I got a quote of 22K for a 3720 with small R4 tires, iMatch and Power Beyond, filled tires, and including delivery. From a couple posts/reviews on this forum this is ~1500 higher than others have paid. For those of you who bought a 3720 or are shopping around, how does this compare to quotes you have gotten? (I am in the NorthWest.)

3) Is it worth getting extended warranty?

4) I am a tractor newbie and I don’t have any mechanical tools etc. I do plan to do my own maintenance however. What are the must have tools / accessories I should plan for? Grease gun, air compressor, what else?

5) Any recommended parts I should stock up on? I will be keeping the tractor on an island so swinging by the dealer is a bit more challenging.

6) Is the 3720 self bleeding? Is it bad if diesel sits in the tank for a few months? Do you use stabilizer?

Lat but not least, thanks to all the posters on this forum. I have been reading this forum for the last year or so (I take my time to do myresearch /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ) and the information I have found here has been invaluable.

Hi Attila,
Around here The dealers will do a little better in the fall because of our planting season ( don't sell many in the winter months).I have never purchased the extended warrenty with these tractors and Knock on wood never ever needed it.I would get extra fuel filters and an oil filter or 2 with the oil to change when nessary. About the only failure I have ever had with a John Deere was there batteries. I went through 3 in the 5 years I owned my 790. I hope this is some help to you.

Jim
