Now I understand exactly what was going on and why! Thanks to all for the timely posts. There certainly are a lot of helpful folks here. I have frequented motorcycle forums in the past, but they definitely did not have this kind of helpful and fast response.

So, it appears that, that first position is regen position, which will give double the volume, but half the pressure, and the second would give full pressure and slower dump speed. . Did the motor not turn at all in regen mode?

It seems like the regen mode will cut the torque about half.

Did the bucket not dump fast in the first position? If it did, then the hyd motor should at least turn, but slower.

no, it did not turn in regen mode

it acts more like it is in float position.

Sorry to hit on this again but, I reread The post kenny has from kubmech and it says first position is "non regenerative", push further and it is in "regenerative position".Kenny states first position is "regenerative position". My second thing is how are we getting a regen position, nonregen position, and a float position with a 4 position valve? Seems to me with curl and non actuating position would make it a 5 position valve!! Or I am reading something wrong.

Murph, remember that the date on that post is from 2002, they must have changed the valves at some time. There are tons of post's about this in the Kubota section, usually about chute rotators or blade angling.

I don't think a hyd motor is supposed to be in a regen circuit. The regen part of the valve adds the fluid from the other side of the cylinder to the pump flow to that cylinder. So therefore, how does fluid flow using a hyd motor, is there any fluid flow?

The flost position usually is on the lift arms.

Maybe AKAAMAAN has that hyd software program to simulate circuit flow.

Thanks kenny for clearing that up.
JJ, you are right, it will not work in regen position cause there is no P.S.I. potential on either side of motor. There also is no float in that valve. The motor is being ran by non regen position. (normal a to tank b to pressure or what have you)
Sorry jhill for hijacking your thread!!!!
