Hi everyone,
I boughta my first Kubota 4 months ago. It was rusted into the ground and I boughta ita for two hundred dollars as a project for fun. I am now a collector and love working on the old thing. I stopped to speak to an owner of a L245DT and ended up buying that one too.
The rims on the 210 were rusted in half. I bought a set of rear rims out of Alabama and had to have the front rims made custom. I am nearing the completion of the L210 and am excited about starting on the 245.
finding parts have been the biggest challenge and I have had to make some of my old parts. I plan to post some PHOTOS of before and after photos in the future.
I read about a trick to remove heavy rust and it has worked.
put the rusted part in a plastic bucket of water, add baking soda then hook up a battery charger with the positive cable on a sacrificial piece of iron and the negitine clamp on the part to be treated then let the cahrger run for a few hours. I pulled the rim out and dropped it on the concrete and about 80% of the scale rust fell off.
Any words of wisdom or advise on where to find parts would be wonderfull.
THANKS FROM LEODIGGER!
