News on RTV shaft rattle?

Jason: Thanks. I will ask about it, but bet it will be a big (?), I'll have to check on that...

Dargo: Clap...Clap...Clap...my complaints for years now have fallen on deaf ears. My guages still fog up, and they too were replaced, and I also gave up. I think I might write a letter to the President or CEO, whatever their corporate structure, and just simply tell them what I think of their total lack of attention to good customers. I have spent regular dollars buying Kubota engine oil, trans. oil, and filters for my RTV900. I'm soo pi.....off with their response everytime I go in their and complain..."yea your right, they should do something about that". Anyone know what oil and filters I can buy for the RTV900 and stop spending my money on Kubota stuff?

Did you ever try to get in touch with Jim carrol of kubota located in Grovesport OH.?His ph#is on your owners manual.coobie

Called dealer and he said he was just getting ready to call me to tell me about the new fix kit that is now available. Said will probably be at my expense to have it put on and listed as about an 1 1/2 hr job.
No, never did call Mr. Carol. Good idea though.

If it's the fix I recently saw, the FRS time allowed is 1.75 hrs, and involves some cutting on the frame the drive shaft mounts in. Haven't done one yet, but will get the bulletin tomorrow and see what it actually involves.

After 2 new drive shafts from my local dealer this was my fix RTV900 Drive shaft fix No more rattle after I had this done at my dealer and kubota paid the bill also.Kudos to kubota since my RTV 900 was out of the warrenty period.coobie

Yep, that will work coobie, but it's not what I saw. I just scanned over it as the warranty guy handed it to me wanting to know if it was something new, but seems to me, it called for moving the shaft mid bearing mounts over to one side a bit. I know it calls for opening that keyhole shaped hole to one side a couple-3 inches for some reason.
This bulletin may be related to some other issue on the 900/100 RTV. I was real busy at the time and didn't read all of it, but did express doubt the time allowed would be enough considering the amt of metal that would have to be cut away. It included 2 templates to do the cuts with.

I installed one under warranty at my shop yesterday,.. very solid and no rattle. Yes you do have to cut out under the frame a little,.. butthat is to install the new shaft as it is spring loaded and built like a CV axle for the front wheels.

Nothing major but I was impressed

1.75 hours is plenty of time.

The cutting was part of the fix my dealer mentioned. I am still waiting for them to get back to me. I suggest the kudos should go to you dealer as my dealer said Kubota says out of warranty..my problem.

I did just install one of the valves over the weekend and talked to the guy that invented them. Sweet... it keeps everyone from lurching through the front when you stop. Nice change. Took about 20 min to install. Really very easy.
