NH is it a Yeah or Neh?

I’m new to the tractor world and thinking about buying a NH 50-70hp around 2015+ mark and wanted user input on the brand and how easy to get repaired versus green, red and orange. Taking aside all brands have lemons, over all what say you?

I think you need to look around for local dealers. There are several good brands, but if you don't have any dealer near by it may matter a lot. Most/all brands in that range will require software to do more than a modest amount of work. My 1999 tractor did just to reset the clutch when a sensor failed. Otherwise not a problem that wasn't relatively simple to fix. Didn't matter if I repaired the sensor, I couldn't clear the fault and enable the clutch. At that time my local Deere dealer held a license with NH (they were a former NH dealer) and was able to repair, and enable the clutch. No longer.

You also need to look at some other items that you may not (as I don't have a clue about your knowledge level) be aware of: EGR, DEF, etc. And then there are all the details any given model has for features. Good luck with your search!

While price isn't everything dealership is.
You don't want to be hauling your tractor mega miles for warranty service.
If you can, ask around and visit the local dealerships

Since you are new to tractors you might want to test drive as many as you can before making up your mind.

Lots of things to think about. Budget, cab/no cab, major usage, number of implements etc.

There is only one dealer here, and I really don’t want to buy new, $$$ vs used $$.

Yes I understand it “may” cost me in the end, but at the same time I haven’t heard amazing things about the local dealer, combined with the fact that I’ve already had them quote me and it was in the $75,000 range 50hp with three implements: Bucket, box blade, and a bush hog. Versus buying used where I’m seeing $30k for the same setup… $45k is a pretty significant amount, but maybe not.

The NH dealer is 80 miles away. So it’s not that bad if I’m forced to go.

OPPS I didn't catch the 2015 part, for me $45K is a big amount, used is always a good option, also no warranty no need to go to NH, dealer parts are available on line you or anyone can work on it.
Maybe someone will chime in with the answers my LS has a different engine than the 2015.

I love my NH TC45d. It's a workhorse that has taken a lot of abuse and heavy work. Mine is 2003
Paid 17k with just under 300 hours about 5 years ago

That's true to a point but I believe at the HP and year the OP is looking at this will be a emissions machine and most of that work is dealer only.

Love my 23yr old tc40. Everything is mechanical and no emissions or computers.

yeah, this is something I do need to take more into consideration. I’m going to put in some time to find a chart outlining years and emissions.

An old timer friend of mine is pushing me hard towards OLD machines but I’m worried about hydraulics and that costing me much more in time and money.

I’m sure there’s a balance in there, fairly updated 2000’s machine with easy to deal with emissions.

I’m looking at a BOOMER 54D because I really like the mid-deck mower option and cvt transmission.

My use case is unique! We just bought a drive-in and currently it’s in rough shape, so it will require tilling/plow, then racking, and then grading/box blade. Once that is done, it’s a mowing the front and back of the screen BUT there’s 5 acres of back lot that’s untouched that I need to do a lot of moving of dirty to level and prepare for RV/Tiny homes.

Thus looking at something powerful enough to do several days of back to back work, while small enough that I can train an employee on to mow the lawns and grade the gravel in the drive-in.

I don't think there is anything wrong with New Holland and I haven't heard anything negative as far as brand I would put them in the upper mid tier brands, right next to Massey Fergusson.
