NH TC29D Oil cooler hoses breaking

When I started hearing about all this trouble, I checked my TC30. I don't remember how mine is set up but it did'nt look like the picture Mike posted. I don't think its a problem on TC30's. Maybe I'll check again.

Had the same problem, but I caught it by reading about the problem here in TractorByNet! What a great discussion board. Attached is a pic of the problem on my TC29D.

I had it replaced at 250 hrs - now at 350 hrs it still seems like brand new.

If the new hose isn't resistant to this problem, you could get a small tubing elbow and use two short pieces of straight hose. At least it's a fix that someone could try.

Call the dealer about it this week and the told me that, they know of the problem for some time now, nothing in the future to fix it. They will replace the hoses for me when I bring them down there again. Not much help, because I'll be replacing them again shortly.

The way I figure it is to replace them every two years. My replacement ones are a year old and look brand new yet so I will replace a year from now.

Mine came split upon delivery. Jeesh! I went to a hydraulic hose company and bought hi qual hose rated at a higher psi. Then I wrapped the hose in electical tape, couple of layers, to prevent the infamous NH bulge on these lines. Works like a champ. Try it!

Got 13.5 hours on my TC29D and today I noticed the hoses starting to leak. The service guy will be here tomorrow to replace them. He heard about this happening, but said I was the first at his place. Looks like the angle is the problem to sharp for the hose they are using. Will likely get some hose of higher rating soon or possibly hard tubing any ideas on that?

Um, er, how can electrical tape, which stretches anyway, stop these hoses from bulging? Please let me know what brand tape you used. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

( ) The tape stretches so minimally that you would be hard pressed to even notice bulge even with the crappy original hoses. I "suggested" trying it.

The next time I replace mine, I'll try it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
