I watched a video of a guy doing some fabricating with steel pieces, and he had a tool like this to chamfer the edges of sheared or sawn steel. I found this one here on Amazon and purchased it. I received it last week, and after I adjusted it to the depth of cut I wanted (~2mm) I tried it on some various scrap pieces of steel, and it works great. Makes a very nice smooth chamfered edge, much better than using a grinder. It's going to be an often used tool in my shop.
Great little tool!

Someone on Welding Web found those several months back and posted about them. Also a positive review but said they doubted it would hold up to commercial use, but for occasional and hobby use were perfect and dirt cheap. I could have used one myself about a week ago...

I have used large versions of that.

Leaves debris behind that are 2nd only to round punch nibblers as far as tracking them around after they imbed in your shoes.

Yeah, sucks to be here when it comes to shopping for tools.

Isn't that the truth.
I can't see a legitimate reason why neither, other than we're passive enough to put up with it. Not I, I'll suffer thru doing something rather than be ripped off, yes I'm stubborn LOL.
I remember a few years back there was something made in Canada, I think it was a saw? maybe, if my memory serves me right. N-e-way, ended up it was cheaper to buy it in the US than it was in Canada..........Mike

Looks like it uses brake lathe bits for cutters.

Looks like it uses brake lathe bits for cutters.

The inserts look like the same ones as some of my lathe tools use. Haven't checked though.
