I bought my 2015 Silverado 2500 about 2 years ago with only 42k miles on the odometer. The tires on the truck, Nitto Ridge Grapplers, were nearly brand new. They, per the date code, were a late 2020 manufactured tire. Fast forward to now, I have put 48k miles on them. They have been well maintained and still have decent tread left. Unfortunately, in the last 2 months, I had 2 separate. I did a google search and this seems to be a pretty common issue, especially with tires manufactured around 2020. We also had a Uniroyal tire on my wife’s Yukon do the same thing. Those tires had about 35k miles on them and were also manufactured in 2020. Hers were replaced under warranty with BF Goodrich. Unfortunately, I did not have any paper trail with mine. I replaced the Nittos with Good Year Wrangler Workhorse H/T. Found them to have very good reviews. Attached is a picture of the bulge/separation in my Nitto tire. Anyone have similar issues with these tires or tires from around 2020?

I put a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers pn my 2015 2500 HD 4x4 and within a year 1 of them separated, went back to my tire man and ordered another one to replace it with and about 2 moths later another one started separating and that did it for me, no more Nitto's on my stuff, I also now order all my tires off of eBay now and save a lot of money.

Supprised to see that, I've had Nitto terra grappler's on both my 2500 ram and on my wife's lifted Land Rover when she had it, never had any problems with them.
The truck was used to tow regularly and went through 2 sets without problem.

The last tire change I went a little more aggressive and ended up with Cooper's.
Wonder what happened in these casses, typically separations are from hard impacts like bad potholes.

My son has those on his 250. No problems yet but they have wore rather rapidly.

I don't know as I have never had that problem before or since with a set of tires and I even had a set of the Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my old 92 K-1500 that I gave to my oldest son and they are still on there and never one problem, so I'm sure like anything else I probably just got a bad batch of tires, but it was enough for me, I'm one of those people that when I have a couple of bad experiences with something it sticks with me and I am done from then on.

I really wish I knew. Don’t recall hitting anything or doing anything drastic

I had a set of Michelin snow tires on an accord a few years back. They prob had 20k on them. They wernt even round any more. I also have a set of Michelin LTX on a suburban and they are possibly the worst tire I have ever owned. I need 4wd on wet grass.

While I feel Michelin makes a good tire, their prices are too high. I just put 4 Good Year Workhorse HT 265/70/18 10 ply load range E tires on my 2500HD for $1280. The equivalent in Michelin was $2100.
