Mowing No easy over on my Easy Over Mower

/ No easy over on my Easy Over Mower #11
Was going to do some digging with my FEL and driving over rough ground so I decided to remove the mower deck of my recently acquired new BX2380. I followed the directions in this video:

How to Remove/Install Kubota "Easy Over Mower Deck" on Any BX Series Kubota - YouTube

and easily got everything properly unhooked. When I went to back up the ramps the tractor would not climb up and over the ramps. I ended up just pulling the mower out from under the tractor and going about my business. I expect I can reattach it much the same way. Any idea why it would not climb the ramps? I had it in 4wd and gave it plenty of gas.

The 60" terrain following MMM on my B1750HSDT, bought new in 1993, is a so-called drive over deck.

Twenty five plus years of experience has long since taught me that it is much easier to roll it in/out from the side than attempting the drive over procedure.

Thanks everyone for the replies.
I was removing the mower, not installing it. To clarify, the deck was not sliding, I did have it in 4wd low and I did have the FEL on it. I note in the video I linked, and others, that they all mount and dismount to mowers with the FEL removed. Has anyone done it successfully with the FEL attached?
Will try it next time at full throttle. Did not want to break anything so I gave up.

You didn't have enough pressure for the HST to overcome the weight and the incline.
I've done it with the loader once without issue, but didnt like the feel of all that weight on the mower. And I didn't have the bucket on, either (Q/A type loader).
You'll not break anything at full RPM. Just ease into the HST, and brake to slow your descent.

was the tires spinning or just didn't have the power to climb the ramps. To help next time you can use the FEL as power assist by curling all the way down, lower to the ground then curl up. This will push the tractor backwards. A good way to get unstuck in mud or snow also.

Thanks, very interesting.

Thanks, sounds like the best idea is to detach the FEL, or just try sliding it in from the slide.

Interesting. I didn't know they made one that long ago. I had a B7500 snd a B7510 with ground-contact mowers. They were not Drive-overs, nor would I have tried. They had no ramps. Where do yours attach? My B2620 had ramps and anti-skid tape and was a drive-over, but like you, it was way to easy to set it down on cup casters and wheel it out.

Aside from the increased width, the 60" deck on my 1750 is almost identical to the current design 72" (not 60") deck used on the B2650 and B3350. It mounts the same. There are no ramps, anti-skid tape, etc. It does not look like a drive over deck but was advertised as one when I bought it and there is a photo in the original sales brochure, which I still have, showing one being driven over. The only way to drive over it is to stack some wooden blocks on the ground behind or in front, depending if mounting or dismounting it to make "steps" and drive onto it in low range/FWA. Otherwise it will simply roll away on the gage wheels.

It's much easier to simply drive the tractor onto a single layer of 2X6/8s, one under each wheel and simply roll it in/out from the side on the gage wheels. On or off in about 15 minutes.

It's a great deck, the best that I have ever owned.

If you have a hard floor, get some cup casters and set the deck down on those. It'll allow you to wheel the deck out any old way.
I find that when the loader is on, I lift the tractor up and then the deck can move freely unobstructed.
Those two suggestions I used on my past B' and one BX, but they were not drive-over decks like the current BX.
I've only taken the deck off twice or three times since I got my current BX, so I do wonder how much of a pain it will be fishing the deck out from the self-aligning carriage and auto-align coupler.

My B2150 has a drive-over MMM deck. I bought it ~ 1993 and I think it is a 1988 or 89 model. Not such a big deal back then -- you COULD drive over it if you chose to. Some did and some didn't.

I have put the deck on and taken off with loader on. I prefer not to. Comes off easy enough because I leave it on my driveway concrete pad, but it is sloped downhill. Putting it back on with loader on, it wants to slide down the concrete pad, so I usually lay my bucket down and curl it like emptying it to help get the front wheels on the top rails.

The majority of the time, I remove the loader and any rear attachment first. This makes putting the deck on and off very simple. I have learned that you have to take rear implement off no matter what because they all hit the ground before the deck does.

I always put it in 4X4 low when driving over the deck. I find this helps the most and have no problem with climbing over the ramps at all. Pretty easy compared to my old BX 2370 non drive-over deck.
