Just want to reassure lurkers thinking about getting a BX24 that are getting scared by issues posted. When reading these forums be sure to keep in mind that usually only people with problems post messages, and people with no problems usually don't. I've put about 40 hours on my 24 and am getting about ready for my 50hr service. While I have had a couple of questions that I posted here, I have had nothing that I would consider a problem with my tractor.

I have moved about 2 tons of gravel left over from an old project from my driveway to a more appropriate location, spread 8 yards of mulch in a morning, dug up 5 stumps, built a garden pond for my wife, smoothed out a couple of uneven areas of my lawn, carried I don't know how much brush and debris to my burning pile in prep of winter, mowed about 3/4 an acre about 8 times, dug a 30 foot trench for running wiring, and have a lot more projects lined up for this baby.

I have never had a tractor before, and never used a BH. It took about 5 minutes to figure out the FEL, and while I'm no expert, within about an hour, I had the BH pretty much under control.

I have 5 1/2 acres of land, of which maybe 1 - 1 1/2 is cleared. I have no doubt that my new "toy" will easily pay for itself.

I will echo those comments....About 40 hrs on mine, with good results....Dug up about 30 cedar stumps, dug a few 6 ft deep holes to bury concrete and rocks (hit ground water that deep :))....Lotsa mowing, and bucket work....

SO far so good...

Same here - I had a couple minor issues - the expected out of the box new kinda things (a grease fitting pulled out of one of the plastic wheels on the MMM) - but it's a solid tool - that's for sure.

120 hours of reliable hard work!.........but.............Fender cracked around 100 hours. Will be fixed under warranty. And I hate the abruptness when going from reverse to forward in high range.

At 35 hours no major problems on the BX24 but minor ones like:

- Tach/hour meter LCD is gobbed up - can barely read it, needs to be replaced, no response from email to dealer yet so I will call once the "to fix" list is long enough
- PTO selector lever rubber tip constantly falls off - anyone know of a way to get rubber to stick to painted metal?
- PTO selector jams after using rear tiller. Need to disconnect shaft, lightly engage PTO to get it to respond again - let's say I want to use mower a bit after working the garden - no easy way given the binding issue in the PTO gears
- Seat fell off (dealer had not tightened seat nut) - I fortunately found nut
- One headlamp missing - poor dealer pre-delivery check
- One backhoe zerk will not accept grease
- Hood rattles - piece of blue foam fixed this (interesting color contrast)

Anybody notice taillight wires hang down loosely?

I am trying to step lightly and in the center of the deck, but I see it flex and am waiting for the dreaded crack to appear. Sometimes you plain forget to be careful (why should I have to?) when getting off and on quickly while working, so it may break someday.

Love my BX24 so far - 62 hrs and counting. Nice power, perfect size for me, easy to drive etc. I JUST finished having the 50hr service done at a dealer a two days ago.

So far the problems I've encountered with my BX24 are:

A) One of the four hydraulic coplers has a slow leak where the FL lines connects to the tractor - started after the 1st 5 minutes of use and the dealer didn't fix it at the 50 hr service dispite being asked and writing it on the repair slip.

B) KUBOTA stikers on hood started peeling off after about 2 hrs use.

C) The orange metal & plastic parts of tractor don't come close to matching in color. I know it's difficult to paint plastic the same color as metal but the other manufactures manage to do this.

D) Controling your speed in reverse is more difficult then it needs to be. Pedal is WAY too touchy and it's nerve racking to back up in some situations.

E) Black knobs that hold the hood in place came loose at 20hrs and this caused the hood to shift and the muffler ended up melting part of the black plastic front grill.

So far I'm pretty happy with my BX24 but Kubota's going to receive a letter from me just the same. Happy with my BX !!!

Almost 80 hours on my new BX2350, and she's been worked real hard...moved 300 ton of berm, helped build a pole barn, mowed a lot...and absolutely no problem at all. And until I read the post about a cracked fender, I had been literally jumping on the tractor...no problems at all so far.

LOVE my Bota!!!

I had the same problem with a leaking quick coupler on the FEL. After every night I would have a small puddle of oil on my shop floor. I tightened all the fittings, but still had the oil puddle. I thought it might even be a worse problem when the oil was spotted on the bottom of the engine oil pan. After tracking it back to the source, found that the oil wicked down the hydraulic tubing, coupler bracket, motor mount, and dripped off the oil pan. I found the problem this weekend when looking inside the female coupler. There are two components that seal when coupled together, one black o-ring and a white ring which serves as a backup ring to help the o-ring from blowing out. Part of the o-ring in my coupler was missing. After replacing the o-ring . . . no more leak. If you replace the o-ring yourself, be sure to put the o-ring in beyond the white backup ring. It's somewhat difficult and patience is required. Don't use sharp tools. They'll cut or damage the o-ring or backup ring. I used a standard size 2-016, 5/8" x 3/4" x 1/16", nitrile or NBR.

Good luck.

I can live with a failure such as a fitting or o-ring. The one that worries me most is the fender failures. Because after the warranty period is over how will stepping on the tractor just right solve this issue.

A bad zerk or something like a hose is a replaceable item. But a fender is costly and if not improved then how many fenders do you wish to buy. Until thats solved with a meaningful solution I'm not buying one.

Just my comments anyway. I love Kubota and the BX series because I did buy one. But Kubota needs to acknowledge this isn't going away.

Welcome to the Bota family, I am sure many of you will get many years of service. All things have their issues out of the gate, the 24 is no different. Hopefully they listen long enough to correct the issues.
I fell on the tail end of the old model, the BX23, like most everyone else in the BX line, I had the airfilter bracket fail. I replaced it and paid close attention to tightening the bolts from the motor back out towards the filter. Seem to work, other than that 150 hours and no leaks, drips, cracks, or missing seats....
