I am sure the people in the third world having no money and 6-10 kids will fill in any gaps in first world population.

Instead of integration, we will see more groups trying to change to what they came from.

Well that will at least reduce the need for toilet paper.

It seems to be that way for all first generation immigrants; the second generation integrates. My own family is an example. My great grandparents immigrated from Slovakia in the early 1900s. They settled in a small community in Ohio with like families from Slovakia. They spoke limited English their entire life and kept to their European ways. My grandparents were fluid English speakers and integrated completely, while still speaking Slovakian with their parents.

With declining birth rates, we will eventually have even greater labor shortages.

Importing immigrants to keep the cost of labor down to tame inflation, is this admins preferred way to deal with things.

Importing and then making it unnecessary to integrate, by providing free food/housing/education is not how my great grand parents were welcomed here.

They landed in neighborhoods that were welcoming and then spread to multiple states after learning the language and how to get along with others.

Those immigrants working at nursing homes are the ones who integrate fast, along with the other workers. The ones that work hard and become owners and pay taxes.

We have millions that are here illegally and the gov promised reforms for those that want to work and fit in, both the R and D failed this.
We have tuberculosis and hundreds of other diseases running rampant,
People from other countries saying the citizens of the US need to be removed from the planet now living here and still saying they want to do bad things.

I have friends and co workers from pretty much every country in the world who are so frustrated and angry that they went through the process and got no help and now get to watch others take their money and not even try to become integrated and pay back into the system.

On the integration comments; there IS a middle ground. 4 generations ago; my ancestors came over from the Hungarian part of Austro-Hungary; but are ethnically Polish, there was no nation of Poland at that time. Anyways, back then, they didn't even teach the US born kids their native language; and it was common to whip a kid if you caught them speaking Polish (or Italian, or German, or whatever). They would change their names to American names; basically born again Americans. That wasn't probably a good thing; immigrants should strive to keep their culture/language, while also adopting American. It's a balancing act, and I for one am happy to get good Tacos from Mexicans, Gyros from Greeks, whatever from Lebanese; ect. I have zero issue with you teaching your kids Spanish or Farsi, and speaking it; but at the same time, I strong feel you need to learn English, and you dont get to be offended b6 me eating pork or beef, or whatever non-kosher, non-halil, or whatever meal I want.

I also dont mind if you make your wife wear a face cover, or whatever, or open a synagogue or Hindu temple.

I will add, maybe 20 years ago, if you asked me, my answer would have been a bit different, but I have adopted a much more live and let live approach, as long as you don't want to change my life to fit yours.

If I show up a Jewish BBQ (if they do that?) I'm not going to be offended by the lack of good pulled pork; but don't expect a Kosher meal at my house. Same with vegans, or whatever. Heck, if I Kniw you don't eat certain things; Maybe I'll have a option for you, but maybe not; not going to make a special trip to a weird store for your culturally appropriate diet.

For Jews and Muslims, beef will do, but fish is easiest. No pork etc.
For Hindi's , no meat only veggies.
I have friends of all the above (plus one of cousins kids is vegan), and usually just make something neutral, like plain pizza.
They can stop by the grill if they want to, but that will have whatever I am grilling, and it could be pork/chicken/beef/fish/veggies.
I never have issues that way,
And the pizza is made with real cheese, just aged and verified lactose free.

Easy enough, but, telling me what to make vs. asking what can I do, well that does not work well. Unfortunately here I don't allow people to bring food to my house due to my limits.
But at their houses, I would never tell anyone what to do, I can bring my own food, it's my problem not theirs.

Also why we don't talk religion, unless asking a polite question. Only way to find out some of the more interesting and cool workings of other cultures.

One of the things I love about working in NYC for so many years. You can be in a room with people from a dozen countries, all working to get something done as a team.

I put my wife Filipino wife through school although only to LPN. The 2 doctors in her clinic are African and Italian. That's at the VA no less. She started out as a CNA in a facility that was over 50% Filipino staffed. When she was trying to figure out what to do as a career, I told her, don't fight it, go into health care! She is by fare the most complimented nurse on the staff. All the patients love her, even the cranky old ones, she always wins them over.

On the subject of population drop, it's a thing for sure. Filipinos are doing what they can to help out. My wife has 6 siblings, 4 out of 7 are working abroad.

Austria has a Philippine nursing program and the US has similar ties.

Sever of our RNs go back every 12 to 24 months and I have standing invites but as a person that likes the Pacific Northwest I worry how I would fare in 100 degree heat and 90% humidity?

No baby shortage in the PI from what I hear.

Also, with holidays vs cultures; if MLK day or Orthodox good Friday, or Yom Kippur whatever is your jam, and you have the PTO to take it off; I support you doing that. You want to celebrate Lunar New Years, cool; you want to blow bull horns and sacrifice a goat; you do you; with that, don't get pissed if I say Merry Christmas; or ask what the he'll Junetennth is. I might even choose to wear Orange on St Patrick's day just to get a rise out of drunken leprechauns.

On the population discussion; our world basically revolves around the idea of steady population growth, and makes that assumption. What happens to real estate or ag commodities in Romania? I don't think most of us in the US have a good understanding on what that world looks like.

The US population is up 53 Million from the year 2000.
That only includes what the census found ( who knows how much more it is).

That's why we have housing shortages right now.
