Not Enough Babies?

That population pyramid above shows the single biggest group is females, 60-64, followed by females 55-59, and females 65-69.
I've always said
"The best part about aging is all the more attractive women there are" ;-)

45 years ago, before China adopted their one child policy, they had an extremely young population with virtually no elderly population.

It has taken nearly a half a century for them to stabilize their population growth as their population aged.

At that time, India didn't do a one child policy, and their population has continued to grow unsustainably.

The number one goal of any government should be a country that can feed their own population, and with uncontrolled population growth that becomes increasingly more difficult.
I read that at present China has similar difficulties with population as does the West. Lack of youth! The made a double error in shipping off (or doing away with) female children. There was an entire "support group" for adoptive parents of Chinese infants in this area. Dozens. Women are needed to support any population.

I guess only the future will tell. But there are still plenty of services that require human labor.

The gubmit needs more employees for sure!

Actually we have a lot of people in the Forest Service who are hitting retirement and we are recruiting over 800 new college graduates nationwide. Looking for graduates with degrees in forestry, wildlife and range management, and civil engineering. Thanks for mentioning.

If you take all city/county/school board/state/federal/tribal agencies together; I would be surprised if it wasn't significantly higher than 10% of working US pop works for a government.

Google says 14.5% of US workers are public sector, or roughly 1 in 7.

That's not including consultants, service contractors, ect; I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't push closer to 20% when you take that into account. Stuff like contracted school bus drivers, ect, that are under direct control/supervision of a public sector employee.
