Hah. I recall one movie where John Wayne entered a shop with a Colt single action revolver, no gun belt or no holster, so no extra ammo. He fired 13 shots in a heated gun battle and never reloaded. Normally 5 shots and it would have pretty much been over.

I didn't think "The Lighthouse" (2019) was very good.

"Whistling Dixie" (1942) was on TCM recently. Painful how bad Hollywood actors sound with fake Georgia accents. They shouldn't have pretended the movie was set in Georgia. Furthermore, Alabama is the Heart of Dixie.

Watched a Netflix movie the other night, entitled "The Healer". It was about a man in England, who moved to Nova Scotia because of debts he owed to the mob; later finds out he is from a family of "healers", whose roots are in Nova Scotia. It's a bit fanciful and far fetched, but well enough done that I was able to watch it all the way through...and a bit touching, I might add.

Fiddler on the Roof seems like an anomaly in your list. Fictionalized story that portrays a rapidly changing life under the Tsar. It ran for ten years on Broadway and the score has become a part of our colective songbook. I understand that it might not be your cup of tea, and that's OK. But it is really in a different class than the others that youve listed. L'chaim!

I agree, and add Life of Pi. These films are masterpieces....the only reason its on this list is because of personal tastes. If you want to talk about personal tastes...I absolutely hate all Western and Horror movies. Only a few I like such as True Grit and The Frighteners.

But man Fiddler on the roof and Life of Pi should not be on this list at all.
