Not so manly pursuits?

If you feel compelled to make a list of your qualifications as a man, you might not be 100% qualified. A real man is secure enough in his identity that he can wear pink, have an "umbrella drink", or sit and watch a chick flick with the Mrs and never question his own masculinity. Opinions of others are merely that...opinion. It's what you think of yourself that counts in the end.

Funny. I was just reading the same thing the other day in "Good Housekeeping" magazine.

I was considering tuning in "The View" to see what their take on being a real man is all about. A number of former cast members probably have more experience in that area than most guys

Took my wife and her friend to town so they could get their nails done (they wanted them to look nice cause we were going to a funeral). Oriental people running the place tried to get me to get a manicure. I told'em it ain't gonna happen. I do my nails with a hammer (ouch), a pocket knife, or my teeth.

that one brought back a funny memory...

How many of us hear have dug around in their tool box for a pice of sand paper to smooth out a ragged nail after we just tore part of it off ( and some knuckle skin ) while fixing your truck on the side of the road.

I know i sure have...

Here's an interesting twist on this theme I thought of last night...

Things I DON'T do that are generally considered manly pursuits:

I don't watch football.
I don't watch baseball.
I don't watch basketball.
I don't hunt.
I don't play poker.

Not that I'm opposed to any of those things, just don't happen to enjoy them enough to invest my time in.

And just to mark my territory, I will occasionally watch a NASCAR race... with appropriate beverage.

I do hunt.. and love a card game.. however organized sports .. I have no use for them. i might occasionally watch bowling or pool.. but that's it. ( I do like to bowl )

Ohhh Lordy, the subjects that come up on this site! Don't know what to expect next.

Well, I do the vacuuming around the house. And I sometimes wear pink or purple dress shirts to work. My wife says sometimes I am "**** retentive". Whatever that means... However, I just smile, (have learned to keep my big flapper shut over the years), and think to myself..."sticks and stones may break my bones but words may never hurt me".
