I was actually considering buying a new Kubota for the mowing business.

Then the bourbon wore off;)

I've owned a couple WD45's and a D15, 2 Case backhoes, a 430 and 530 at various times.

If i had to buy a new tractor right now.. it's be a tough call vs money, over brand loyalty vs features.. etc.

I think Montana and farmtrack and mahindra would be in the running for best $$ category.

The top o' my list would of course be CNH.. with MF looking over it's shoulder.

I like the look of the less $$ units I mentioned.. but am gunshy about them... glad i don't have to buy right now...

My B-I-L, who owns 4 or 5 Deere's, 3-4 Cases and one old Ferguson said that if were to buy new, today, he'd go Kubota. Two of his cousins who farm nearby, just bought new Kubotas. These are full time farmers. Not weekend warriors....like......me.

They figure they can get a lot of work done with one of these:

That's funny! And its even funnier that most of us look at a machine like that, regardless of the brand, and think, man I wish I had one of those! But even if someone gave me one of those, it wouldn't be of much use to me. But I still wish I had one. And I'd probably think of something to do with it.

I'd drive it to the mailbox if nothing else. I have enough property to support a tractor like that, but my little Kubota works fine for my applications. I was recently at a Deer and Turkey expo and Kubota was there. I sat on the MX125. I fell in love! My wife told me to get down off the tractor, no running in the building and to behave myself...it was like I was a little kid.

Not so manly? Like wearing my wife underware while working with the tractor?

Of course, it would have been more "not so manly" to quote something out "Womans Day" or "Redbook" or anything other than

the latest Popular Mechanics issue:
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.

Well, I had no brand loyalty...went into this new tractor thing wide open and blind as a bat. I found out there are many more brands than I ever heard of. And it was tougher on me because of the total lack of knowledge anything tractor-wise. In fact, I can't remember what even got me on the tractor craze. Could have been that JDBower dude who frequents another forum I'm on. He showed up with this fancy JD with back hoe and all kind of gadjits I never even dreamed of. Man, I aughta shoot him...or hug him :D , he deserves something of some sort I guess.

Almost bought several different colored ones...but it finally came down to getting what I thought was a really good deal on a used one. Yeah, color was not an issue at all with me...it's just a tough decision. Hopefully, one I'll never have to make again:D
