Tractor
Pending Decision
... what do you like LEAST about your tractor?

I'm looking at getting a CUT or SCUT and want to look at the good and the bad, so I can make the best decision I can.

It's easy to list the good things, but what would you change if you could?

I have a Kubota B2620, and the lack of position control is the item I wished I had. There are other things, like telescoping lift arms, that I would like to have-but I understand that stepping up to a premium tractor would have made that possible.

When you say position control...the position of what? Dumb question, I'm sure, but I don't have much experience.

Position control. Kind of hard to explain. On most tractors the three point "up and down" lever has an adjustable stop for the going down part. When you lower the three point it will always stop at the same height when this adjustable stop is hit. For most three point applications this doesn't matter. For brush hogging it matters a lot. Some Kubota tractors have what is called a "Quarter Inching Position Control" on the three point lift. This lets the three point drift down while brush hogging and it has to be constantly adjusted. My Kubota has the "Quarter Inching Position Control" and not true position control. I don't like it. I can live with it.

I like the least... that my wife got more seat time this winter than I did.

On my Kubota I dislike that the brakes and hydro controls are both on the right side. Yeah, there are work-arounds to still use the brakes to steer, but it requires a certain degree of flexibility that I don't have. Dancing the Can Can while trying to operate the snow blower dressed in bulky clothing is just not easy.

Humdinger:

I wish we had a factory cab from Dec thru late-March. Curtis cab is OK, but noisy.

Really like ag tires for traction. But chains ( and tire clearance) are needed for dealing with ice and hardpack snow.

The positives on my Kubota more than overcome the few negatives I have with it. If I were to buy again I would buy Kubota.

The lack of a cab option for my model. Not even an aftermarket cab. Of course when I bought mine I couldn't have afforded a cab and still can't:)

I have owned the TC33DA 2 years. The only dislike is the lift capacity of the 3 point hitch. The other dislikes are things I can add. Rear remotes and QA bucket.
