I almost 100% agree with you, I would say 15-20 years ago though.

It is almost sad :( that so many people just do not want to believe that there are companies all around the world that make GOOD products. ;)

Yep. Some people are happy to pay the premium for the name and some really do benefit from the more established dealer network. Some just like particular models which makes a bit more sense. However, today, for those buyers with an open mind the products especially from Mahindra and Kioti are so close to Kubota, NH and JD and with
many thousands of potential savings that it is hard to imagine the sales won't continue to erode the Big Three's market share. I see it as analogous to Hyundai challenging Toyota and Honda. The old names are justifiably associated with quality but the newcomers bang for the buck and increasing quality reputation spell trouble for the Big Three.

James, I'm a little late because I stopped reading this thread after you said you weren't taking the plunge, but congratulations on the new tractor, I think you're going to love it. I'd put my CK30 up against any of the economy L's any day, the extra weight makes all the difference in the world especially with the tires loaded. What you're getting it a step up above that, I think you're really going to like it. The "extras" that Kioti has a standard will make you wonder how you ever survived without, I'm thinking it'd take me a full day to hook an implement without telescopic arms now, and I'm dying to go pick up my new SS quick attache pallet forks! Enjoy your new Cadillac.

yes I noticed the ck series had things that others charge extra for, like telescoping links and the larger ck's have the SSQA standard..
Oh well live and learn.

Mtn. I am looking at the DK40. Top and Tilt pistons?

Sorry top and tilt cylinders

So the top and tilt is used in the hydrolics system. What types of implements would you need it for?

Maybe I'm confused. Are you inquiring about MtnViews TnT system?

Anyway, it's great, though I don't have his set-up, had I bought it and not got it with the tractor as I bought used, I would have bought his set-up as you can save a couple hundred bucks.

As for what it's good for, anything really, the top link is awesome for anything, but you don't need the side link unless doing ground engaging work, where I would suggest the side link as well for making a perfect cut.

Sorry top and tilt cylinders

$580 + shipping costs for a complete set built with 2 1/2" dia cylinders with 1 1/2" dia rods. That is a top link with 10" stroke, side link with 4" stroke, 3/8" hoses with male quick connects and hydraulic flow restrictors.

You would use these with ANY type of grading implement. Remember that with the hydraulics, you make the adjustments from sitting in the tractor seat. You do not have to stop the tractor, get off of the tractor, manually adjust a link and hope that you get it adjusted to where you actually need it adjusted, get back on the tractor and go on your way and then stop and to it all over again and again and again. You make the adjustments with the touch of a lever in a second or two and if you get good, you make them and never even have to stop at all.

The side link is also nice to have if you use a 3pt post hole digger. If you are a bit side ways on a hill, you can use the hydraulic side link to help plumb up the auger.

I have no doubt that there are other uses, those are just a few that first come to mind. ;)

James!! Congrats on your new tractor - albeit a tad late on my part!! Had no clue you were looking to buy - I never make it into this forum.

Glad the CFO approved. Although my purchase was for a used tractor, it still was a chunk of change - fortunately we both have great women in our lives!! Mine was 100% in favor of the purchase.....but I had been waiting patiently for a couple of years - I think I must have wore her down :)

Good deal sir. I hope you enjoy!! Pics please when it arrives!
