So if you are doing radiant slab heat, what’s your plans for insulation? How are you forming for around the garage doors for the thermal break between outside and inside?

There is no radiant heating. That was someone elses picture of their barn floor with radiant heat. I will probably put a wood stove in though, just doesn't get that cold here for extended times.

If its available a little bit of water on the stone will help it compact better.

Have let the air dry it out the last 2 days from rain that got in....but will put a light mist on it when I use the compactor.

Per the NEC, EMT can be used as an equipment ground.

Correct ! As long as you make all the connections metal to metal there is no need for a ground wire. One of the advantages in using EMT.

I would put in a green ground to be sure.

Everything is ready for 26 yds of concrete tomorrow! I only put rebar and wire mesh in certain spots where the rv will park. Plus extra rebar in the apron. entrance. Will also have fiber mix @ 4000psi. 2 extra areas for extra concrete left. I always use plastic for a condensation barrier.

I’d dowel those two outside pads back into the inside pads.

Looking really good!

I told myself this spring that I was going to finish (wall and insulate) the inside of my barn this summer. Odd how many other projects you get doing instead of the ones that you actually want to do! I have the bottom 8' of the walls done and built the loft. Still the top 6' of the walls and the ceiling to do. I'm thinking I will have a project for NEXT summer!

Glad to see you getting this done. What a difference it will make.

Didn't give it a thought ! Good tip. I will just drill through the grade board and run some rebar between the 2 pads.

Was going to do it myself in sections....then the dear wife spoke up and said...NO just do it all now !!! It will be nice to have it all done at once...as they say, don't move things in until you get the floor poured.
