Odd happening

This is off topic, but from the pictures it looks like you can move the rear tires out quite a ways. For skidding logs like you're doing (and for doing just about everything else) having the tires at the widest position will make that tractor safer and more capable. I'd highly recommend swapping them side to side and maximizing the potential of that nice looking Mahindra.

Good notion motown. I actually had the dealer widen up the stance before they delivered it. I am not sure if they can be widened anymore as you may have a better eye than I but I asked the dealer and then stated "but not too wide as I have tight woods to go through".

Just check your air filter and make sure it has not burnt any holes it.

be careful with that, some oil pumps don't do so well running backwards. I've done it several times on gas engines messing with the engine management-get the config/setup wrong and it'll light off at the wrong time and start running backwards. interesting and amusing stuff, no doubt.

Some snowmobiles do this for reverse. Push a button and the engine almost dies and then runs backwards. Had it happen on an outboard too.

Yes, my snowmobile ( 2 cycle) has the electronic reverse and that is how it works for reverse.
The oil injection pump is designed to pump oil either direction that the engine is spinning

Had it happen on a 2 stroke mc. Once I knew what was going on I tried starting it in reverse by pushing it backwards and popping the clutch. Was way too hard to drive.
