Off balance

Driving down the road the other day heading to a friends house to help grade his driveway. I noticed the tractor on the right side was humping, like a car does when there is a flat spot in the tire.

My lug nuts are tight and didn't see anything odd.

Could the liquid in my tire cause this when I'm in high range 3rd gear on the road. I don't notice this any other time except when on the road.

Just seemed odd.

Tractor tires, especially bias plys, always do that. They sit, they get flat spots, they slowly get round and pliable again when you roll them. In cold weather in the winter it is really bad. You only notice it at higher speeds in the summer. You notice it every time you run the tractor in the winter.

The flat spots don't line up side to side with each other as you make turns and stuff, so the bumpy ride can be not too bad or more pronounced depending on the orientation of your square tires with each other.

They also tend not to be real true (round) either.

The tires seem to develop a flat spot. If I use my tractor frequently it doesn't seem to be a problem. I used to use the backhoe to lift the back end off the ground and put a stick under it. I had the stick cut so both back wheels touched the ground, but just barely. That seemed to help the problem.

If you don't have enough fluid in the tires, the fluid can all end up on one side of the tire, going around in the same "spot" creating an imbalance.

Glad to hear it's not just me and the machine isn't messed up. It had sat for a week or two in this heat, so this explains everything. I just didn't think a tire this large and this thick would do it so quickly.
