Off road diesel - How do you find locations?

Just to catch everyone up, as of 2014 the EPA started requiring ALL diesel sold (on or off road) to be ULSD (ultra low sulfur). So that LSD isn't a thing anymore in the US.

But price still is. Off road is 50 cents cheaper here.

Yes I didn’t say anything about price. Price is still cheaper here as well.

I'm in the heart of farm country and there's not an off-road diesel distributor within 50 miles. That's over a 100 mile round trip. 
I have a 30 gallon barrel with a pump and dispenser I can wheel around on a dolly. I power it with one of those 12v jump packs. I fill it with on-road diesel in the bed of my truck at the local discount station. I can off load it and set it on the dolly with the tractor and barrel sling.

O-R diesel actually sells at times MORE than hwy diesel. The last I had seen O-R diesel sell far below was when bio-diesel was a rare thing.

If you use a lot of fuel you can buy on road fuel and claim it on your taxes to get the raid tax back. Most of us if we don't buy off-road it's not worth the time to keep receipts and make another entry on our taxes for it. You can also do this for lawpwer and boat gas as well since neither is driven on the road and thus your eligible to revive your road tax back from those off-road uses.

Tax is so irrelevante for me I use Rd. Have Off-Rd. 1 mile from the house but never cared for the Red Dye. Plus To lazy to walk over to the side of the building and then have to go inside to pay for it. Many Yrs. and it's a good feeling to see clean, clear fuel in the bowl. All the time for me. Easy to pickup the Dirt in the Bowl and on the Filter since they're Red also......

In this area, the best way to get off road diesel, is to use the card lock facilities.
another benefit to that, is that I have never had to wait in line to fuel up, always the only guy there at that pump.

I imagine most of the rural south 8s like where I am. Logging is king around here. There so many crews and big trucks around most of the stations have fresh fuel in them whether it's off road or on road. The big trucks keep the on road fuel fresh and the woods crews keep the off road rotated. Last time I counted up the little town across the state line from me in Georgia that's like 4000 people had something like 15 logging crews I could think of working out of it!! They use quite a bit of fuel!!
