Off road diesel in pickup.

90% of America doesn't know either. There are people in my community that don't know the difference. That's okay. Saves me a LOT of money on road tax for diesel burned in my tractors.

The ignorance of America is just another example of government taxing you for something you don't even understand. Capitalism at it's finest. :)

Would you prefer China or North Korea's government? Maybe Russia or Cuba? If capitalism is so bad why do you own so many tractors? You should give one to a poor neighbor.

Nothing to do with capitalism. Tax issue, and possible violation of 4th Amendment.

I didn't realize I was complaining?

Don't park your truck anywhere except on personal private property with a residence for about a year. Otherwise they don't need a warrant to dip the tank.

They sure do go to a lot of trouble to see if someone's running taxed fuel or not. Seems like they spend more on employing people to deal with the "problem" than potential tax revenue they're likely missing out on potentially. That's government for you though, let's spend millions to make sure we aren't being ripped off a few hundred bucks.lol

Yeah, that was my point earlier that was taken as a complaint. :)

Explain to me how a person could use a vehicle and comply with your stipulation? ;)

Around here the DOT checks on the highway through our town at least twice weekly, about 2 hours each time. Large trucks and listen for diesel pickups and check them. Drives people crazy due to the lost time for the check. They must catch some or they wouldn't be spending so much time - but it only takes a few to pay the bill because here the fine is huge.

Twice a week seems a bit much. What happens if they checked you going the other direction just 45 minutes ago, do you get it again? What about last Friday and Monday?

I've been driving diesel for 13 years and my parents had diesels for all but a couple of years since the 80's. I almost got checked once and as far as I know they never have been.
