I was the Bear Bait. All I had to do was outrun Eric to not be Bear dinner.
Eric won our division. It was a fair and square win and he definitely deserved it. We had three hours and I spent way too much time trying to be trick instead of just getting it done. I'm disappointed in myself.
There are two things that happened up here that I think I'll take with me forever. The first one was the uniqueness of the Packers. They're the only publicly owned NFL team and you have to feel that everyone that lives here is a shareholder. In Texas we have our Cowboys. The downside of that is Jerry Jones. It's hard to love anything with such an ugly face. He does put an ugly face on the Cowboys.
The second thing was the spirit of Miller as evidenced through their employees. They're American made and they want you to know that. We've taken tours and the one thing that comes through over and over is the employees love their employer. If I heard it once I heard it ten times, the employees believe the company cares about them. The CEO allegedly knows the names and a little about the family of all of the twelve hundred employees. That just seems to knock their socks off. The big man addresses them by name when he sees them.
We've had a wonderful time. The other contestants were awesome. We had a ton of fun together. Everyone of us approached it differently and came up with our own version. Eric, the one who tripped me and the bear got me, was the perfect competitor. I made the joke often that if I couldn't win it I wanted him to. It hurt not to win but it wasn't his fault. It was all mine and I was almost as happy for him as I would have been for me.
I have't found the youtube videos yet. Our hotel wifi is terrible. It's as bad as dial up was back in the day if any of you are old enough to remember that. But tonight we're going to be in Sauk City visiting Scott's mom and aunt and uncle. Hopefully they'll have better wifi and I'll go searching.
There's one contestant that I've hammered like he was a stepkid to join on TBN. Matt is the greatest. TBN would love him and believe me, he would love TBN. He's smarter'n anything and diligent as heck. He would be awesome here.
I hope you understand that I've had a great time. Glenda's been with me and all of you that know her know that she's always like a kid in a candy store when it comes to life. She was like a kid in a big big candy store up here. Miller treated her like she was one of the contestants. Of course I understand that, I love her too.
