Oh Boy, Oh Boy! (4310 at dealer)

Does this mean Edgar gets to go on a road trip (A ride in the truck... Oh boy, Oh boy! My favorite! /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif )? They'd fall in love with him at the dealership. /w3tcompact/icons/love.gif Having him there with you might even get you a couple freebies from the staff. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Now you did it, Gary!!! I had decided to leave Edgar home, since it is a short overnight trip and will probably be hot. I also wanted to get that expensive equipment home off the exposed trailer as quickly as possible.

So the plans were made, but, NO!, you have to get my guilt going. As you know, Edgar and every Golden I have ever seen or heard about only wants to go along -- Oh, boy, my favorite - a 700 mile car ride in a little over a day in 90 degree heat with few breaks - but I get to be with Dad...

I'll give it some more thought...

An air conditioned truck, some water and walk breaks so you can each stretch your legs and quality time together on an overnight adventure AND a new tractor... what could be better? Oh Boy, Oh Boy... a trip with Dad for Father's Day... My Favorite! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

I'm impressed you got so many miles out of a Trooper. I "had" an '87 and the head cracked at 90,000 on a 2.3l engine. None too happy about that but that's off the subject. Good luck with your tractor. I hope you have many happy hours riding it.

Roman,

The Trooper is the first "redesigned" version that came out in 1992. It has all the bells and whistles and when I bought it, I vowed (to my spouse) to put it on the "10 year plan." Well, with a new tractor it's probably going on the 15 year plan. I have had absolutely no problems with it. I would definitely consider another Trooper when the time comes. Trouble is, there are few dealers in Iowa (bought mine in CO). Look at the size, beefyness, and features of the 1992-onward models.

The certified check is in my hands, the work has reportedly been done, and I'm ready to go tomorrow. Even got the old Trooper "detailed" by using a gift certificate. Wouldn't want the Trooper to feel left out with the shiny tractor and new implements riding on the 18 foot trailer.

So, if I don't check in for a few days, you JD lovers and others will know where I am and what I'm doing. Actually, I probably won't be able to control my enthusiasm and will have to post some pictures this weekend. Wish me luck getting through KC on my southward journey to Carthage.
I don't use these often, but can't resist at this pivotal moment:

Don't you mean "WE'RE ready to go tomorrow?" as in you and your bestest, most loyal friend in the whole wide world who'll miss you terribly if you go without him and who'll look for you home tomorrow night and fret terribly if you're not there and who'd have the best time going with you and be great company if you'd only take him along? Isn't that what you mean, Bill? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Bill you thought that was a long ride before... I'll bet you it will seem twice as long this time... good thing your bringing Edgar with you to keep everything in perspective!
I remember how long my 3 hour ride seemed to take when I went to take delivery... I can only imagine yours!
But rest assured it will be over soon and you have the whole summer to catch up on quality time with Mr.(Mrs.) Green.

Good luck and travel safe!

Congratulations Bill....you see, the wait wasn't all that bad. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif Drive safely and be careful with how all that equipment is loaded. My dealer couldn't quite fit all I had on a 20' trailer bed. I had to bring home the landscape rake in my pickup. Even with that, dealer's trailer was loaded to the hilt and he mentioned he felt the 'weight' of everything during the delivery.

Look forward to seeing the pics of your new 4310.

Okay Bill - What's going on??/w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif

I'm getting ready to go on vacation a week ago, and you're getting ready to leave to go retrieve your new tractor.

I come back from vacation, and I can't find anything about your trip, your tractor, Edgar. Nothing - Nada - Zippo! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

I expected to find a whole bunch of pictures and all of these great stories about your first week of being a Tractor Owner. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

I hope nothing bad happened. Did I miss something while I was trying to get caught up with a week away from TBN?
