Update....
Had breakfast this morning with my 80 year-old farmer buddies. I was convinced they would steer me toward the practical side and recommend against the Camaro. Just the opposite. Buy the car! My sales rep called with the price...2010 Blue Camaro SS/RS, all the options...$41,085.75 drive out the door. My wife wasn't up when I headed out the door early this morning. Just talked to her...she again said... GO FOR IT! With great apprehension, I am now going to Chev dealer. BY the way, I am a dyed in wool supporter of American branded cars and trucks, regardless of the government help programs. If all knew of the government money thrown at the Japanese manufacturers in Japan, the US government lifeline provided to our manufacturers would pale in comparison. 50 business trips to Japan over the last 20 years has given me insights many here don't appreciation. 101,000 miles on my 2000 Cadillac DTS and 128,000 on my 1999 Chev Suburban with no problems with either has instilled loyalty to the GM brand.
Whoops...I have get off my soapbox and head to town.

P.S. If you hear from me later today, I chickened out. If not, I will be somewhere up in the clouds.
