G'day do you have a worn bush or shaft in the front of the pump? If you do then you could allow pump pressure onto the back of the seal and they are not designed to take all that, check the seal when you remove the pump and see if it has turned inside out, this will indicate excess pressure you may be able to get a local hyd shop to rebuild it cheaper than new. Also may not hurt to check relief pressure too. Good luck
